I don’t usually post reviews but I wanted to this time because if the incredible job I feel Ms Torres did in handling my divorce. Going through the process was not easy due issues involving assets/kids. Ms. Torres was a tireless advocate for me and always presented all the sides so I could make an informed decision. She also kept me up to date on what was happening and made herself available when I had questions. I know that this would not have gone so easily if I didn’t have her in my corner. Thanks Ms. Torres!

I hired the firm of Yolanda V. Torres for my child support issue. At first, I was skeptical because I have gone to other lawyers in the past who only dragged out my case to bill me. Ms. Torres was very upfront with me with what to expect and not to expect. She was extremely knowledgable with family and gave me the impression she knew th ins and outs of the family law circuit. I hired her because she seemed very honest to me. I am very glad I did because throught out my case, she did everything possible to get me the time I needed with my son and that was ultimately the whole point. She was forthright with me the whole time and gave me the attorney attention I needed. I would say I would recommend her to someone who is looking for a good famly law attorney.

I would definitely recommend Ms. Torres. She was able to help me find assets that my ex spouse was hiding. She was very helpful in explaining the process to me step by step whenever I had questions. I am not an attorney and sometimes do not understand their jargon. I felt very comfortable with her. She knows her judicial officers and prepared me what to expect from court.

I came to Ms. Torres because she was highly recommended by another attorney. I didn't know what to think at first because she looked so young and pretty. But as it turns out she is a certified family law specialist practicing for years. She really knew her stuff and also knew all the players in the courts including the judges. She successfully won my trial against my ex and I was so happy because now I get full custody of my kids and the child support I should be getting. I highly recommend her.

I hired Yolanda to handle two cases for my children, at intake there seemed to be a genuine desire to help from Yolanda. However, after a few months I noticed the following. Yolanda prepares last minute for hearings, I would receive late night calls the day prior to a hearing or she would prepare with me in the lobby same day of hearing, which create a lot of pressure. I was being invoiced for items such as service of documents that never took place and when I asked for proof, I was given none. But most importantly my calls to resolve matters with opposing counsel who was arguing over the Christmas holiday schedule were not answered nor returned until it was too late, and police were involved at exchanges for my children. When I called this attorney out for her delays I was told to “find another attorney” and asked to sign a substitution of attorney. I was told she had now had a “conflict” and I failed due “follow advise.” Basically, copouts are what I received and a nice fat bill right after that. The abandonment cost me thousands in hiring new attorneys to handle my cases. When I asked for a refund, I was told that “any new attorney had sufficient time to prepare for the hearings.” This was in December 2019, we are in April 2020 and my cases are still on going. Hiring this firm was one of the most horrible experiences I have had dealing with an attorney.

When I told her about mistakes she made she said she would correct them, but never did. Because of her lack of knowledge and responsiveness I ended up having no choice but to fire her. I would have been better off representing myself. I would definitely not recommend her to anyone. Fortunately I was able to find another family law attorney who was able to clean up the mess she made.
