About
I am an associate attorney at Scott Immigration Law Group. Arriving in the United States at the age of 9, I am a New York City native, where I was raised in a first-generation working class immigrant household and was the first of my family to graduate from high school and college. As a result of my personal experiences, I understand the needs of immigrant and minority communities, and dedicate my work to helping others seeking to establish themselves here in the United States. I graduated Cum Laude from Michigan State University College of Law. My breadth of experience in law includes working for the United States Department of Homeland Security, the Executive Office for Immigration Review, the Michigan State University College of Law Immigration Law Clinic, and Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance Foundation. I am a member of the Federal Bar Association and the American Immigration Lawyers Association, and am fluent in Mandarin and Hokkien with a working knowledge of Cantonese. During law school, I was the quarterfinalist in the Regional Phillip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition and received the Jurisprudence Award for Research, Writing, & Advocacy in 2013. I was also an Executive Officer for the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association and actively involved in the Women’s Law Caucus. I was a Student Representative for the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid, where I counseled prospective law students about the law school application process. I have also volunteered at Champaign County Circuit Court Self Help Office, Prosperity Gardens (a local nonprofit organization), and worked as a pro-bono attorney for Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance Foundation. Prior to law school, I worked as a diversity education program coordinator at the University of Cincinnati, where I implemented panel discussions and workshops relating to the social impact of changes in immigration law and policy. As a newcomer to the city of Chicago, I enjoy exploring all the attractions and restaurants that the city has to offer. When I am not out sightseeing, I enjoy cooking and reading science fiction novels.
