Zero or even negative stars are not possible, so have to give a 1 star. First I would like to thank everyone that had left a review and helped confirmed how I felt after talking to him about my case. I felt like he was talking down to me and I was a stupid person asking stupid questions. He wouldn't even answer any of my legal questions. When you are looking for an attorney, it most of the time means you need help and are going through a stressful time. You need an attorney that can calm you down and provide you the legal advice and options you have, not some that will laugh at your questions, make you feel stupid and stress you out even more. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this guy.
Don't waste your time with this guy - he is a disaster. His only plan is to sign you up and keep billing, billing, billing. He doesn't do any strategic planning, is generally rude and uncommunicative, doesn't even return phone calls.
I literally ran out of Bill's office after only moments with him! He is definitely the most unprofessional "professional" I have ever encountered! Right after meeting him and a very brief conversation, I decided it was not a "good fit" and stood up to leave, he repeatedly DEMANDED that I sit back down in a very loud and demeaning manner. I guess it was meant to intimidate me?! Don't waste your time...
Wow! Talk about terrible service to his clients. Mr. Stewart agreed to help with an eviction and yes he did meet with us once and answer some questions over the phone. He claimed he would only charge $400 for the entire eviction process. When we called for help, he very rudely claimed that he had not been paid his $500+ dollars, and that until then he would not be available, then hung up. He did this to two people involved in the case. Neither individual have even received a bill for his services.
I would not recommend Bill Stewart to anyone dealing with family matters, custody issues, or anything that can be life changing if things don't go well in court. My honest opinion of services rendered by Bill Stewart: he put very little effort into educating himself on the background of my case and had to be prompted by me through two different hearings in court, he couldn't be bothered to return my calls, made me feel like I was an idiot for asking him legitimate questions concerning family law, and subpoenaed my two witnesses 2 days before trial (one a business owner and the other a family therapist) with not even bothering to call either one to interview or to give them a heads-up they would be appearing on my behalf. Overall I feel like he charged me thousands of dollars for work he didn't do, but should have. I would not recommend him to anyone, but especially those dealing with family matters. You would be better of representing yourself.
This lawyer knew of me through family. He seemed rushed, uninterested, and treated me like I was young and dumb. He would talk down to me and make me feel like I deserved "what was coming to me" if I lost in court. I eventually found a new lawyer. He started and finished my Divorce/Separation. And started my child custody battle, but I switched lawyers before he could mess that one up as bad as the divorce was.
Our tenancy issue was never resolved. The situation was well documented. He speed read through the files, called the other attorney, wrote a letter and even took calls from the opposing client. Bill offered no solutions. And we were billed for the other clients calls. DO NOT HIRE HIM - unless you want to pay for nothing.
Bill referred us to another attorney because he was unsure how to handle a legal claim, when the attorney he referred took over the case, she contacted him to tell him how she handled the matter , she called him once to brief him on what she had done, they had one phone conversation and got a bill for $120.00...basically 2 hours of his time he charged us for, for one phone call. He wouldnt return our calls when we questioned it, the other attorney said she only called him once, but his receptionist says we were billed for two conversations.Had he been a good lawyer he would have been able to help us to begin with and we could have paid for one lawyer. . He doesn't return calls and isn't very friendly or knowledgable. He pretty much likes to make money by sitting around and doing nothing!
