Mr. Schebaum has a great memory for detail and lots of experience-- a natural strategist. He does not like preparation and procrastiinates, but if you check in with him and remind him of what you need next, he's a great and affordable attorney. He's helped me with a speeding ticket, a divorce, and selling real estate.

Bill Schebaum has been a lawyer since 1976. I heard he was a good lawyer to have when I hired him for my divorce. My experience was that he did not prepare well and it seemed as though he never opened my file unless I was sitting in front of him. I had to constantly remind him of the issues for each meeting. After any hearing, he was very slow to finish things. After the divorce judgement was made in court, the opposing attorney was directed in the stipulation to finalize all the financial issues within 45 days. No action was taken. I have called and e-mailed Mr. Schebaum steadily for a 17 months trying to get him to take the steps to make this happen. At one point, he told me he would have an affidavit prepared for me to sign by the end of September 2015. It is now September 2016 and it has not materialized. I was finally able to get him to answer the phone and he told me the attorney-client relationship had soured. He said his staff was uncomfortable answering my calls. That must have been because they knew they would have to cover for him once again. The phone was rarely answered anyway. Always went to voicemail. He then told me he would no longer represent me. If anything, it was his procrastination and lack of motivation that caused the "souring." It is time for him to retire before more people take years to get him to finish anything. When attorneys collect a retainer fee, as most do and as Mr. Schebaum does, they have no incentive to finish anything. They are already paid in advance before they do anything.
