Mr. Nexsen joined the firm of Stackhouse, Nexsen & Turrietta, PLLC in August, 1979 and is the firm's senior partner. With an early background clerking for a U.S. District Court trial judge, Mr. Nexsen's main interest is in litigation in all fields. He has experience in general negligence and products liability law, commercial law, automobile negligence, construction, and workers’ compensation. His practice experience and emphases include trial work (on both the federal and state levels), worker's compensation, and all matters of insurance law. He oversees all insurance trial work for several Fortune 500 companies as the partner in charge of litigation at his firm. Mr. Nexsen has been widely acknowledged for his supreme skill and experience in law. He is an AV Preeminent™ (5 out of 5) peer review-rated lawyer on Martindale-Hubbell and has been awarded A.M. Best's Top Rating for Attorney Excellence for over 30 years. In addition to his work experience, Mr. Nexsen is also an active expert lecturer on the subjects of workers’ compensation and employer liability. He has also served as Sitting Judge of the Moot Court for Regency Law students and has been an active leader in firm-specific community outreach and education through Tidewater Community College. When not hard at work, Mr. Nexsen likes to spend time with his wife and children, along with his two favorite small dogs, Bowie and Pai Mei. He's also a fan of most genres of film and can almost always be found with a book in hand.
