Mr. McDevitt has been an active, practicing trial attorney for over 40 years, litigating a wide array of cases across the state of California. He has regularly represented members of the California Highway Patrol, police officers, firefighters, and safety officers for over 30 years.  He holds an "AV" (highest possible) rating from Martindale Hubbard.   Since 2007, he has been selected as a "Super Lawyer" by his peers; this designation is reserved for no more than 5% of the attorneys in each state.ABOTA invited him to be a part of its select group of trial attorneys. He has tried over 70 case to verdict.McDevitt teaches civil litigation and mentors a number of younger attorneys, who are aspiring to be trial attorneys,Mr. McDEvitt has been married to his wife, Paulette, for 44 years. They have 4 children and 6 grandchildren. Two of his daughters are nurses, the other is a human resourse. His son is a trial attorney with the prestigious firm of Walkup,Melodia, Kelly Schoenberger in San Francisco
