Bill delivered. He managed my high conflict divorce and my ex's opportunistic lawyer gracefully using his mastery of the legal process. Highly recommended.
I would recommend Mr. King and his team without hesitation for the impeccable job he did representing myself and my two sons best interest. Mr. King stepped in when my legal struggles with my ex-husband continued long after the papers were signed. He is an excellent attorney. He knows the law and cares about his clients. His skills are most evident in the courtroom. It is such a refreshing feeling to know that your case is in the best hands and its being represented effectively. I am grateful the way he represented my case and I give him the highest recommendation for his work.
Bill King is a kind, honest and compassionate man. He treated me fairly and with respect l. He help me to keep a clear head and make a fair deal with my ex-wife. He was there as support every step of the way. His expertise in divorce law was truly a godsend. If you're thinking about going the road alone I would recommend talking to Bill King. Every step of the way he was very level-headed and when he needed to fight he took good care of me. I have great friends and family that I love and trust but there's no one rather have with that very tough day, probably the worst day of my life.
Bill King is currently my lawyer. He has helped me with a few things - he knows the law in and out, and has decades of experience. So when you get his help, you are certainly in good hands. However, his customer service is terrible. I have had to email or call him numerous times to get responses. In one case, an email went unanswered for a month, with each week me literally begging him to respond. This has happened a few times since I have been using him, and his excuses are: his own health, his wife's health, he is on vacation, etc. These are all great excuses by themselves, but I get the feeling that he is of an age where his health and presence in the office are a detriment to his practice. Also he refuses to help outside of business hours- which is tough for me because I'm a stay at home parent during most business hours. I believe anyone practicing family law should be available at various hours. The worst thing about his nonresponse, is that at times he has charged me for it - when I have written a follow up message saying "I didn't receive a response", his assistant notes that email as her time on the case! Also about customer service - he wouldn't take the time to make me feel heard. He would just speak over me, yell at me, etc, because he knew the answer. While he probably did know the answer, part of a lawyer's service should be in taking the time to understand the client's concerns, and walking them through the issues - not belittling them and hanging up on them. I realize other reviews here have Mr. King responding saying that he takes the time to address client's concerns - but that is entirely false. Not only did he not help me understand the issues, but he made it clear that he doesn't have time to even care about them. If your case is really clear, Mr. King will be of great help, but if it is cloudy at all (which I suspect alot of cases are), you will be struggling. Addendum: After posting this review, Mr. King emailed me saying "I saw the crap you put on the AVVO review," and exchanged a few very angry emails with me at a rate faster than he has ever been responsive before. Previously I thought he was just someone who didn't quite know how to use email, and who never responded without thinking for a few days, but I was wrong. I wish I could have such responsiveness when discussing the topics for which he was hired. Also he is at a stage in life where I don't think his client base will be affected because of a critical review like this, so his interest in his web visibility is notable.
Right from the beginning his firm started over charging me. I sent and email to Bill. He corrected the problem but charged me to look into it. He also promised a 5% discount if I paid on time. I did but never saw the discount on my last bill. I was stressed out the whole time he was my lawyer. He always had excuses for being out of the office and not working on my case. My Ex-wifes attorney did all of the work while Bill and his paralegal Karen nickel and dimed me for work I believe they didn't even do. It has been 9 months since the lawyers withdrew from my case and I just received another invoice from his office.
I lost everything I had in my divorce thanks to William B King. In the end I felt more like Mr. King was hired to work in my ex-husbands best interest and not mine, since my ex-husband ended up with the house, the business, and all of our assets.
Paid way too much. I feel taken advantage of.
