Mr.Batchelor is deplorable man who takes advantage of his vulnerable clients. I hired him years ago when I was involved in a custody battle with my very abusive ex-husband. He took a $1,500 deposit from me, supposedly for court costs and charged me cash separately for each and every visit. He encouraged me to purchase a weapon due to the severe threats my ex was making. So he knew how dangerous he was. On one occasion my husband threaten murder so to protect my children he said I should flee with the children for our safety. When I did, he hung me out to dry. He said he would deny telling me to flee and he refused to show up in court for me and my kids in my absence unless I sent him another $1,500. He stated he had used all of my funds. He never filed a motion, or went to court or anything for me prior to this and as I stated I paid him separately for the consultation and visits. When I needed him the most he was essentially black mailing me. I did not have the money, nor did I want him to represent me at his point. He knew how dangerous my ex was and that if I did not show up or have representation my children could be handed over to him. Before I could return with my children my ex's attorney filed a motion and because my representation did not show- Mr.Batchelor - my children were taken away from me and given to their father. They were absolutely terrified and begged the policeman not to take them. The policemen had tears in their eyes as my children cried- "My dad is the bad man, not my mom, please don't make us go with him" They are grown now and still have nightmares about that day and so do I. It took me well over a month to get them back. I could only see them at school. It was horrific. When I asked for a receipt he made up charges to total the $1,500 in cash. Two weeks later I requested another receipt and the fake charges were totally different. I wanted to report him and fight what he had done to me- but I was in a battle for my life and for my children as well as working 40-50 week. My energy was focused on my kids. I am glad to see he has been sanctioned multiple times by the NC State Bar for such horrific practices. He has had his licensed revoked for a year, which seems light for his many transgressions. On other reviews I see where he took his renters security deposit without just cause as well. He is a crook and a liar and should NEVER be trusted!
