Wells is the most expert immigration attorney on the east coast. HIs practice serves extraordinary immigrants (academics, investors, entrepreneurs, and HNWs) in the US and across the Commonwealth. He hard-working and wise, and does not let down his clients. Once Wells has your back you can sleep peacefully (and travel globally). My immigration case was complex, involved 3 countries, 2 ongoing litigations, and at least 1 antagonistic 3rd parties. My immigration record was problematic and filled with falsehoods that negatively impacted my global travel and ability to provide for my family. Before finding Mr. Wakefield I consulted with more than 5 immigration attorneys in Boston, London, LA, and New York. All either admitted that they were out of their depth or over time showed themselves to lack the required expertise and experience in my unique matter. That is when I met Wells Wakefield. Wells first helped me to ASSESS the situation and uncover all relevant information from public and private sources, then we ANALYZED my options and risks, and finally we ACTED definitively across 2 countries and multiple legal jurisdictions and litigations. Two years later I have secured residency in multiple countries, secured confidential settlements, and I now have a clean immigration record. What is more remarkable is that Wells did all this at roughly 50% of the price quoted by other attorneys. Don't call Wells for ordinary immigration forms and procedures. Call him when everyone else has failed or don't know what to do. When you need an extraordinary immigration to solve an extraordinary situation.

Wells Wakefield has represented me in multiple areas. In 2015, Wells helped with pro bono work helping a friend of mine visiting from another country apply for asylum, and, eventually a work permit. That friend now has work papers and is legally living, working, and paying taxes in the US. I periodically consulted Wells on other business immigration matters from 2015-2018 that did not require a formal retainer, specifically options for startup employees who were non-US residents. In one case, Wells taught us about Optional Practical Training, which was the right answer at the time, and Curricular Practical Training which one student's university offered. In another case, Wells explained how we could reimburse international interns' expenses without compensating them in a way that would violate US labor law. I also referred Wells to a friend whom I have asked to write his own review here. I can say that that friend has repeatedly thanked me for the introduction and told me that he personally credits Wells for getting his difficult immigration problem solved and his visa approved. I recently retained Wells and his partners to represent me in a civil proceeding where Airbnb renters caused $20,000 of damage to my home. He and his partners did a fantastic job explaining the pros and cons of litigation and how the process would work. I closely read the quality of their filings and they did a superb, careful job setting out the facts and applying the most favorable applicable law to my case. The matter is still pending but I am extremely happy with the process so far. Wells has also helped me with close reading of business contracts from time to time. Full disclosure: I knew Wells as a personal friend before he became a trusted attorney.
