About

My practice is limited to immigration law. I have practiced immigration law for over three decades. I am currently employed as the director of the Immigration Program at Legal Aid in Rochester, New York, where I have worked for almost 22 years. At Legal Aid, I represent persons whose income is below 150% of the federal poverty guidelines. The types of immigration cases I handle include asylum, family based applications, removal defense, and VAWA, SIJ, DACA, U and T applications. I represent persons in appeals, including appeals to the Board of Immigration Appeals and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit. For the 2012 and 2013 spring semesters, I was an adjunct professor at Cornell Law School. I am the author of two articles involving asylum law which appeared in Immigration Briefings: "To Speculate or not to Speculate: The Search for Plausibility" (February, 2009) and "Into the Heart of Darkness: The Nexus Factor in Asylum Cases" (November, 2014). I am a member of the American Immigration Lawyer's Association and the liaison for its Upstate New York Chapter to the USCIS New Jersey Asylum Office. I have spoken at numerous trainings about topics such as asylum, DAPA and DACA, special immigrant juvenile status, and immigration law in general.
