Wally and his staff helped fight my case for over 5 years while i was under indictment..they dedicated tremendous energy to interviewing my employees, understanding all our business practices, getting private investigators involved and then going the extra distance by treating myself and other important people in my life as family...sindra has been an incredible support at the office when i needed quick answers to ease my stress..thank you wally and to all the staff over there in handling a long case and getting me an amazing outcome...and just going above and beyond expectations!!! thank you
I enlisted Wally to defend my nephew on a DUI and drug possession charge. The facts were stacked against my nephew but since he is young and these charges could severely impact his future, I knew we had to fight it. Upon meeting Wally and his team, they very clearly explained their strategy and set realistic expectations. I have dealt with many attorneys in my professional life, in fact one of my business attorneys was the person who highly recommended Wally. I very much appreciated how matter of fact and to the point Wally was; it became apparent to me that his best assets were his extensive experience with the UT court system, keen legal acumen and strong litigation/negotiation skills. The bottom line; Wally though his efforts and incredible attention to detail reduced the DUI to impaired driving with a $500 fine. And the possession charge was reduced to a misdemeanor with a plea in abeyance and no fine. He was also able to reduce the time my nephew's license was suspended. This outcome was far beyond my best case expectation. As for Wally and his team, all in a days work. If you're looking for a highly ethical and competent criminal attorney who will communicate with you very efficiently, Wally and his team will exceed your expectations. I can't thank him enough for his assistance. He almost made the experience a pleasure; I'm sure it would have been under different circumstances.
My name is Dustin, I never write reviews. However, when you are realistically facing prison time and an Attorney is as intelligent, thoughtful, and caring as Wally was I have to. Let me be clear this was a self inflicted wound I had. I went to meet with Wally and I was petrified. He helped me to take responsibility and face my actions. He was always a straight shooter, and literally treated me like a Son. Wally has amazing relationships, and more importantly is respected by everyone in the Legal system and Government Agencies. I truly am grateful that I chose Wally and you will be too! I got probation and that was a miracle on his part.
Constant communication, works hard even weekends and late nights. Extremely confident and reassuring. Even after my case, wally continued to work and advocate on my behalf
I would highly recommend Mr. Bugden for any legal services. He did an outstanding job for me and my family. He cares about his client and wants to do the best job he possibly can. Mr. Bugden takes the time on your case and looks at every angle and every issue that is involved in the situation. He works well with the prosecution team and the judge on his clients behalf. I have used other attorneys in the past and none of them compared to the services I received from Mr Bugden. When your looking at prison or jail time you need someone good in your corner. Mr Bugden is the attorney you want in your corner!
I hired Walter Bugden to represent me and my family on a very difficult case. His team worked very closely with my wife and I and paid very close attention to detail. He was on top of the process and pushed the case through faster than expected. I would strongly recommend Mr. Bugden to anyone looking for an Attorny that truly cares about clients. My case was all over the news and very humiliating to not only myself but also my family. I ended up serving a small jail sentence and pleading guilty to a misdeameanor rather than a felony and possibly years in prison. He was also very good with my family. Highly recommemded.
In April of 2013, myself and 5 other people were unjustly charged by an overly aggressive Utah Prosecutor from the Attorney General’s Office with multiple felonies for Fraud. From the very first meeting, I felt as though Mr. Bugden was direct and honest. He always made me feel like I had an advocate that had my best interest at heart. It took 20 months before we were able to get a preliminary hearing. We had many hearings in that 20 month period. At every hearing Attorney Bugden and his partner Tara Isaacson were on time, prepared and ready to defend me. Every brief that was required to be filed was delivered to the Judge on time and in most cases ahead of time. Not all the defendants in the case were able to say the same. Attorney Bugden was great in the court room. He asked the witnesses all the right questions in a way that seemed harmless, however their answers were critical to proving our case. When you are facing Felony Charges you need a well respected and aggressive Attorney. Attorney Bugden is both. There was a situation where Attorney Bugden had to stand up to the judge in our case. He did so in a very respectful yet direct way. I was proud that he was my Attorney! The fee schedule was set up front and at no time was I charged more than I had been told. There was complete transparency in all matters. One Saturday afternoon I had a time sensitive question and I took the chance that Attorney Bugden would pick up the phone. When he answered and helped me with my question I was so relieved. That shows how dedicated he was to my case. The Judge finally dismissed all charges at the preliminary hearing. The genuine emotion of relief I felt from Attorney Bugden on that day was amazing. I will ALWAYS refer him to anyone that is in need of a defense Attorney.
Wally was my attorney for a federal white collar criminal case in 2013. The outcome was excellent thanks to Wally's ability to speak with the prosecutors and other attorneys involved in the case. I like him because he is a straight shooter, experienced, respectful of client resources (i.e. very conscientious about trying to save me money), and realistic. He will not blow smoke and tells you how it is. He also knows criminal law and has relationships with many of the government prosecutors and other attorneys--this can be invaluable when trying to work out a deal or get information. Because of Wally's light touch and ability to speak with the other side, my restitution order was set aside and the case resolved favorably. I would not hesitate to recommend him to others facing either state or federal criminal accusations.
My wife and I recently received a phone call that no parent wants to receive, our child was arrested for felony criminal charges. If found guilty, our child would go to prison. After extensive research on identifying the best attorney to represent our child, including referrals from prosecuting attorneys not associated with this case, we were able identify Wally as the best person to help us out. Over the next several months, Wally diligently helped us to resolve this criminal matter, achieving the best legal result possible, including: the avoidance of incarceration, the elimination of the felony charges and providing us with the opportunity to get our child the help that was truly needed. This was our first experience with the criminal justice system, a period of time when we were concerned about the safety and well being of our child while we also needed to navigate the judicial system. During the entire process, Wally was very empathetic to our situation, educating us on this area of the law, providing us with all of the various options that existed, keeping us 100% updated on all progress/efforts being made and then, but of course, ultimately giving us his winning strategy and recommendations. At the same time, Wally always showed genuine concern for our child, consistently advocating and advancing positions that would help us all make certain that this type of arrest would never occur again.
As a retired employee of the Judicial System I have known Mr. Bugden since his first jury trial. When confronted with having to respond to a summons myself, Walter was there by my side through the entire trying ordeal. He took away all the worrying I had been doing and made the process much easier to deal with. I have no hesitation in recommending his services. I have only the highest praise for all his help with my case.
