About

In over twenty years of practicing family law, in both California and Washington, it has become clear that there should not be winners or losers in divorce cases.  Rather, the goal is that both parties reach a mutually satisfactory result, with minimum cost and emotional trauma, particularly to any children involved.  I have devoted my practice to helping families reach amicable, out-of-court settlements, in the most cost-effective manner possible.

I've been working and using Virginia's services for the past year with a complicated child custody case. During the past year I can only give Virginia high remarks, she was extremely patient, professional, highly punctual (replied to my correspondence late at night and on the weekends), and just played her cards right and unfortunately she had to deal with my ex's pit bull attorney. If your using her for a highly emotional case such as mine was, hold on for the ride, and know that Virginia responds to your concerns in a very comforting and gentle manner, there were a few times I think I got her confused with my therapist since she is so laid back and very good at easing your worries :-). Thanks for everything Virginia if you read this!

Virginia practices collaborate divorce approach (after going through contested case I highly recommend you some kind of mediation approach which includes collaborative divorce unless you really set to pay for your attorney’s children tuition in college and so on). At first I was worried that Virginia was gender biased (for some reason I thought they needed to get a male lawyer). However by choosing to work with her I learned to appreciate her coolheaded approach. I worked with her on already existing case and she was very knowledgeable and spotted a number of issues that help me a lot later. She is also very responsive and handling the cases by herself (this is a big benefit where my prior experience was - it takes some times a week to schedule an appointment with your attorney). Typically she responds within a day and can set up a meeting on the short notice. Granted collaborative case is not for everybody but at least try it you can always spend tens of thousands of dollars on the contested case later. Virginia is also very good about keeping it up to point and explaining all the intricacies of the law. I had not so good experience with supposedly good attorneys where they would charge you pretty money for the meeting and the ratio between useful information and not so useful was very low. Overall she is a very good attorney and a pleasant person.

Divorce is one of the hardest things to go through but Virginia made this process as smooth as possible. She put me at ease from the very first time I spoke with her. She is on top of her game. Though she is driven and will fight for you, she is also very compassionate and easy to talk to. Virginia was always quick to respond to me and did a wonderful job at answering my questions. I felt confident in Virginia and she really took the weight off my shoulders as much as she could. I would absolutely recommend her.

Virginia was very knowledgeable about family law and helped me understand all of my options. She kept things low key and I am happy with the results I got and was able to keep an amicable relationship with my ex.

Virginia is very professional, patient and effective. In particular, she has excellent acumen in the context of understanding and applying divorce law and processes, negotiations/mediation, and "closing the deal". In addition, as a male client I benefitted from her perspectives that ensured that we found a "fair" and reasonable settlement between my wife and I. This was important because she helped "frame" my goals in such a way that protected myself, yet made sure that my children and wife were also protected. I am sure this is very difficult to accomplish with clients because of the stress and emotions that run rampant during a divorce. No question, I was very fortunate to have her as my attorney.
