About
I enjoy making complicated legal issues simple to accomplish the goals for my clients, who usually are families of modest means needing advice and assistance. I practice in the areas of elder law, estate planning (wills, powers of attorney and trusts) and Guardianships. I also do some family law cases- seeking settlement if possible so that people can resolve their issues and get on with their lives. It is important to me that my clients understand what their choices are, and that they know what the next steps are when they leave my office. I'm always available to answer questions for clients and former clients. I enjoy singing and hiking.

I came to Virginia as a scared mother of two who needed help in the court system protecting my children from their biological father. Virginia was not only compassionate, but knowledgeable in how to do things correctly and thoroughly; even with the constant change in counsel of the opposing parting. She is patient, kind, detailed and worked with me based on our ever changing needs.
When I needed an Irrevocable Special Needs Trust reviewed & rewritten from the mess 2 other previous attorneys had done, Virginia immediately spotted some very troublesome areas they had overlooked and misrepresented.. These areas which had previously been overlooked or misrepresented could have totally invalidated the entire trust and left me in shambles both financially as well as emotionally ....she is thorough, honest, personable and extremely professional ...I KNOW I have THE BEST legal care with Virginia Clifford......
When our stepmom isolated our dad from his family (6 kids), we asked Virginia for help getting us back into the AFH to visit him. She helped us out by not only getting a VAPO against his new wife, but also dug deeper into what was really going on - revealing exploitation we knew nothing about.
Recently Virginia Clifford with warmth and legal expertise answered my questions concerning end of life choices. Then to my complete satisfaction she prepared my Will. Virginia also served as my legal counsel during a 3 year court proceeding in which she successfully resolved in the best interest for all involved. As my counsel Virginia listened attentively and with exceptional knowledge of the law, she aided me in positive conclusions. Virginia is an excellent attorney.
I was in a long term marriage 35 years ended in divorce. Ms Clifford was always by my side every step of the way and explained everything and was very kind .
We hired V.Clifford to defend us in a lawsuit with ex-wife. She spoke reasonable and we kept trust on her until a hearing day. In a courtroom it was a nightmare. She was not prepared for hearing at all. She did not know the subject well, could not answer the questions from an apposite attorney, she was digging and digging in her bag on the court room floor and could not find documents. She pointed wrong pages in our case for a judge three times! After the third time the judge got really mad and said If one more time you direct me to a wrong page I will stop hearing. Can you imagine that shame? I realized that we lost our case well before it was pronounced. And yes, we lost the case completely beyond any bad expectations. I would strongly recommend to stay away from this attorney. I see she is not a family attorney any more. Maybe she is doing better now, although I doubt it.
