We went to Vince Nardone and the Nardone Law Group at the advice of our tax accountants for help filing delinquent federal, state and local tax returns. The first line on the Nardone Group web site says they are a "results-oriented boutique firm." The result we received was a federal tax return filed by Nardone that was not processed by the IRS. Instead of helping us solve the problem, Nardone took the position that as a professional services firm his firm does not guarantee results. We were told to be patient since the IRS had recorded our payment but had not processed our return. In the meantime, a tax controversy was created with the State because the AGI on the State return did not match the AGI on the Federal Tax Transcript. It was later discovered that despite Nardone's knowledge that the IRS had processed a return on our behalf during the delinquency period, Nardone did not file an amended return but rather a duplicate return which Nardone sent to the wrong IRS processing center. The end result was more tax problems. The IRS seized our refunds during the two years it took to resolve the issue and we had to pay additional late fees and penalties. Once the issue was resolved we tried to settle the remaining 25% of our legal bill with Nardone and he told us he would not settle for anything less than full payment because he was tired of dealing with clients that always want to blame someone else for their failures. The failure of the IRS to process our return and the related issues with the State were not caused by us. Our experience with Nardone was that he and his young, rapidly growing firm lack customer focus and are not results-oriented.
