Sam C. Mitchell: Founder & AttorneyMr. Mitchell graduated from Frankfort Community High School in 1957. After serving in the active duty Army and then the Army reserve, he subsequently attended SIU for his undergraduate degrees and received his Juris Doctorate in Law from Loyola University. He received the school's highest recognition in their advocacy competition program.Mr. Mitchell also focused on medical education as a means of furthering his interest in dealing with the diagnosis, treatment, and overall life effects of traumatic injuries on those that he represents in his Plaintiff’s personal injury practice. Sam has served without pay as a part-time or auxiliary police officer for 21+ years and is a certified Law Enforcement Firearms Instructor and lecturer.Attorney Sam C. Mitchell's entire life has been dedicated to representing injured plaintiffs and their families. Although he is a world traveler, his primary focus has been the legal system and involvement in a trial practice.Firm HistorySam Mitchell began his career in the law by joining Leonard J. Dunn and Associates, the oldest and first civil trial firm in the area that completely restricted the practice of law to personal injury and medical cases solely on behalf of Plaintiffs. In 1968, he was sworn in early at the private office of one of the members of the Supreme Court of Illinois so that he could try his first jury trial. He subsequently became the firm’s primary trial attorney at the law firm Mitchell and Dunn, before eventually becoming Sam C. Mitchell & Associates.Although the firm has primarily focused on cases involving Illinois and the surrounding area, Mr. Mitchell’s personal injury practice has, over the years, taken him to 22 different states. Rather early on, the firm developed a team approach generally involving multiple members of the firm’s staff and with the firm’s sole focus being on Plaintiff’s personal injury cases, death cases, and medical issues.Committed to Providing Fierce and Aggressive RepresentationBeing fully convinced that some come to repentance because they see the light and some because they feel the heat, he has dedicated himself and the firm to provide whichever of these was required.
