Troy was so helpful. We were able to settle and now have new carpet and odor sealed sub floors. We are now enjoying our space and actually moving into a room we had to close off due to nasty odor. Last year my daughter had problem not being able to pay the whole apartment lease period because she graduated months earlier and could not find sub-lease due to Covid-19 pandemic. Troy solved the problem for us wisely and saved us thousands of dollars at unexpected low consultant fee. Troy is generous and don’t charge nickle and dime. We really appreciate and are grateful to him.

I'm Elie Linstant. Back in April 2019, a property manager kicked me out and collected money against me. Most of these people don't respect your right as a tenant. And as a tenant you don't the laws, and always busy at work and family. Easy for them to always abuse your right. Someone referred to Troy Pickard. I'm telling you guys the truth. I'm Haitian, after knowing that there was no hope, my hope was just to pay about 4700 to them. But Troy get my case and solved it. He was a savior for me. Now I don't owed no money to that manager and they paid me for not respected the law or my right. I will refer anyone to Him. Yes he's good. And for me he is the best. If you have a problem with any landlord. Trust him and you will have the best results than ever. With Troy is peace in mind. Thank Mr Troy. You're the best

I was referred to Troy through CAT following my landlord's refusal to renew my yearly lease, and instead forcing a month-to-month contract so that she could get someone new in to my rental, simply because I was not receptive to her unsolicited advice regarding her world view and spirituality, and how she felt I should be living my life. Essentially, she was attempting to force me out because I hurt her feelings by desiring a professional landlord-tenant relationship, rather than acquiescing to her need for rigid micromanagement of me. I have had a number of very bad experiences with attorneys, and was reluctant to contact him, but after my landlord refused mediation through Resolution NW and CAT, I felt that I had no choice. He listened to me, understood me, and validated me, without me having to explain the social justice issues behind my perspective and experiences. He "got it", which I really appreciated, especially since an aspect of the issue was around my landlord's sexist treatment of me following sexual harassment from our neighbors. Troy worked with me to write a strongly-worded letter that was focused on what legal options I had at my disposal to respond to her, including potential financial outcome in my favor, and within hours of her receiving his letter, she was asking me to renew another one year lease. My landlordess seemed to find the letter so intimidating, that she was willing to hear me out regarding some other lingering maintenance issues, without threatening me or shutting me down, which is her way. The next time I find myself in the need of an attorney, I will go directly to Troy Pickard. Thank you, Troy. I really appreciate you getting me out of this unnecessary housing crisis.

Troy helped us set the record straight with a bad landlord. We were mistreated as tenants and Troy came to the rescue. He gathered lots of evidence and plead our case at the hearing. He is great at his job and won it for us. I recommend anyone with landlord issues to him. He is very detailed and driven to find the truth.

Troy was fabulous! He consulted with me over the phone first to determine if I had a case. Then we met up within two hours of our conversation and let us know exactly how we should proceed. He helped me and 4 roommates who where in a terrible situation with a landlord who did not give us sufficient notice, tried to pass off a monthly lease as a week to week lease to avoid Relocation assistance payments and chose us because he didn’t think we would fight back and we are “nice”. He almost got away with it except I would not let it go. I researched the law to see exactly what it was and how it was enforced. Then I found Troy who not only told us things we found out but things we had not known. Within 24 hours of speaking to Troy a demand letter was sent out to our landlord for payment. Thank You so much Troy for your time and assistance today. You’re an awesome human being. If you have any issues, call Troy right away! He will let you know what to do. He’s extremely nice, forthright and honest, as well as reasonably priced.

My former landlord tried to charge me a bunch of illegal fees from my security deposit as well as nearly $700 worth of cleaning charges for cleaning that wasn't done for messes which weren't there to begin with, and all out of some irrational grudge against me. One demand letter from Troy letting her know exactly how she'd screwed up was enough to change her mind, or if not to change her mind, at least to pay back what she owed me and then some. Troy was very amicable, concise, and knowledgeable - it's a good thing he's one of the good guys.

We hired Troy based upon a recommendation from Oregon CAT and some research. Our landlord was attempting to evict us in retaliation. Troy and his law clerk Christine were responsive, helpful, and thorough, asking for our feedback throughout the process. Troy sent a well crafted letter to our landlord, and when the landlord came back with a less-than-desirable offer, Troy emailed the landlord again at which point we received the outcome we were hoping for. If we have any needs in the future we will be sure to contact Mr. Pickard.
