I am currently helping my uncle with his divorce since my uncle does not speak English. He is a native Vietnamese speaker. His divorce started at the beginning of the Shelter In Place Order. I called Travis for my uncle and he arranged for us to meet on a Sunday. During the meetings, my uncle would explain everything to me, and I would translate it to Travis. Travis was very patient and asked many questions to best understand the situation and form the plan to move forward. Travis was able to file some initial motions to get some of the important pieces of the case resolved. Even though the court was only seeing limited cases, Travis was able to get my uncle seen and complete a stipulation and order with the court. Travis did a fantastic job negotiating several key elements of the stipulation with his ex’s lawyer. While the case is still ongoing and there’s been plenty of bumps in the road, Travis was able to calm things down until the next court date set for later this year, after the courts open back up. Throughout the case so far, Travis has always been available to us. He has met with us on many weekends and has been available via phone, email and text as well. We prefer email to keep a record of what happens throughout the case, but he always makes sure to provide the best instructions for my uncle to follow. The best part of Travis’ practice is how well they respond to questions and filings.
Mr. Whitfield represented me in negotiating a settlement with my second lender following a foreclosure. He exceeded my expectations!
I had a short experience dealing with Travis but it was a great pleasure working with him as well as with all the personnel in the office. I would definitely recommend Travis as a great lawyer very attentive to the client's situation and needs.
A very good lawyer. Handled my case quickly considering how complicated it was. His staff also treated me with respect. I will continue to recommend his services.
I would not recommend Travis to anyone in a divorce situation with a cunning and clever spouse. In my assessment he exercises undue pressure on his client and tends to bully the client without keeping him informed about all aspects of the case. In my specific case, the lawyer acted very un-ethical and contacted my spouse for his bill payment incase my spouse would do a settlement with me outside the court. I found Travis to be a bully and even after I fired him he tried to influence all other lawyers I engaged or contacted for engagement. He clearly told some of the lawyers that they should drop my case. I also found him siding with the opposing counsel beyond reason. He also did not file a response to the motion filed by the opposing counsel and did not inform me of the deadline.
I got a recommendation to check this lawyer for my divorce by a friend I say whose judgment I could trust. He asked what I wanted. I said I want to make it as amicable as possible, I want what is fair, I want my peace, my freedom and most of all I want my kids to go through this as smoothly as possible. As long as I have my health, peace of mind, stable job and an option for my children to go to (their mom as I have learned exhibit strong narcisisstic traits which finally explained everything that troubled me all those years). His other question relevant : Do you think your wife is going to make this very difficult for you? My response was " Absolutely 100% she did not have to make threats that she is going to make it like hell for me, I knew" He convinced me with these words: I will fight for what is right for you and her I do not tolerate using the children as leverage I am not one who try to squeeze the other party unfairly We move with the children welfare always the priority. I said I am in. This was me filing for a divorce I tried all I can to work out for 20 years only to realize 18 years that nothing will ever change. The promises not one of it were ever even came close to even get a jumpstart. the best words he made were after the first court day in which I was shell shocked he did not do or say anything to advance or make known our contentions. The very first court day a few minutes before we even were called in to the courtroom I knew then that I made a very big mistake. As we were preparing all that I would say what about my, what about the, and what not. His one and best answer amongst was maybe we can add that in the next court day this is just the start! When the proposals came and I so much had disagreement to some claims that were so absurd as we went along each proposal. Some I had no idea whatsoever how to proceed I asked what can you say, what legal advice can you give me. The best answer he has made was " well I do not know you are the one who has to decide what you want to do with it I am just putting note to make sure that we represent exactly what you want and how you wanted. One other answer he made was I do not deal with those financial stuff. It is not my line of specialty. So I asked maybe he can give me recommendations who to contact after all he has more than 2 decades at least of doing his job. But no he referred me to his secretary. First secretary left a few months after . I have a pending heart surgery. My job security is non existent, there is an active deliberate operation to try to get rid of me. My lawyer knew this so I am lagging with my payment of his services which is just about the only thing they are good in communicating with me. Now he is asking to be relieved from being his representative due to an irreparable relationship and an outstanding service fee. There never was an representation nor there ever was a relationship. I know nothing about law but I have common sense and I am in customer service. I am actively looking for a new lawyer that can simply just represent me for what is legally fair for me, the wife and the kids. I did not know I hired a paralegal.
We hired this attorney to file for my divorce. Another case come along that I had to fight for my daughter custody. He promised I would get her but every time I would see him he would charge 1k , 2k, 3k in total he charged me around 8k for nothing. I personally hired HIM and he made some other lawyer there work with me Mr Seabrook. Also horrible lawyer. He would stay quiet In court and never attacked other party while we had great evidence. Honesty horrible experience. I had to report. It’s not right the take advantage of people. I then hire another lawyer that charged one quarter of what I was charged with Travis and she did an outstanding job.
ZERO REVIEW, DOESNT DESERVES IT, HE IS WEAK AND AFRAID TO STAND UP TO THE OTHER PARTY'S ATTORNEY DUE TO A PRO TEMP JUDGE.. How can I recommend this lawyer if he is conspiring, stalling and aiding the other party and his lawyer. I have wasted my attorney's fees that he charged me for nothing, coz he was working with the other attorney who is a PRO TEMP Judge Rebecca Sue Jones in the Santa Clara County, and not for his client. NOT AT ALL, giving any referral to any people. Travis made any attempt to impede my legal rights to seek what my ex-husband hid, concealed during the divorce proceedings and Travis waited the last minute until the divorce anniversary reached and stalled my requests to subpoenas of my ex-husband's company, his personal financial institution were concealed from me, and this attorney is not good referral to any of people going thru a divorce, separation, child custody, or anything at all, especially when the other party is evil, tenacious, egregious attorney and PRO TEMP Judge thinks that "she is above the law" and this lawyers like Travis would not want any issue with her or else this PRO TEMP Judge would give him a hard time for his any cases in the Santa Clara Superior Court County.. NOT GOOD. Plus Travis has an associate named Lauren Cirlin, she quit because she cannot stand him, because of what Travis did to me, Ms. Cirlin put together a MOTION and Travis impede to filed in the Superior Court on my behalf... sad,,, sad sad sad experienced with this lawyer..
I worked with Travis Whitfield during 2010 - 2011 executing my divorce. My specific dissatisfaction is with the second phase which led us back to court in March of 2011. Time after time, Whitfield would tell me he would drive the agenda in a timely manner as, time was of the essence yet, continuance after continuance was all I was met with. Whitfield had given me misleading legal advice, resulting in an agreement being filed with the courts to pay the respondent an outrageous monthly support payment. Making the decision to have Whitfield represent me resulted in approximately $10k worth of his legal billing, no agenda driven and a newly awarded spousal & child support payment! Whitfield is all about billable hours more so than his clients best interests. My advice to anyone considering Whitfield is "Think Again!"
This lawyer does not respect a CLIENT ATTORNEY PRIVELEGE AND THAT he is on highly unethical attorney. Bleed his clients for money: me, my sister and one other friend we know. We filed against him with the california state bar and process of filing complaint with the SJPD for FRAUD.
