I'd start off by saying that I'm not a fan of most attorneys. I've been fleeced over custody battles, and the like----which helped lead me straight into a bankruptcy. I talked with a handful of attorneys before meeting Tracy...and not one of them passed the "smell test." Enter Tracy Updike. When I sat down with Tracy, it was obvious that she knew what she was doing, and genuinely cared about me and my situation (the caring was very important to me). A bankruptcy is a life-changing event, and one that nobody can feel good about. I was so stressed out financially and emotionally, but not so much AFTER our initial consult. As time went on, I knew I had made the right decision. To say that Tracy is diligent, would be an understatement. How many attorneys do YOU know that reply to emails, pretty much 24 hours a day? Tracy is one of them, and I don't know how she does it. Tracy doesn't just say what you want to hear...she will be brutally honest, if necessary. And most importantly, she DOES what she SAYS. I still consult her as needed, and never hesitate to refer her to those I care about. She also handled some financial issues for my mother, and quite well, may I add. My mother thinks very highly of her as well and likened Tracy to "a breath of fresh air." Bottom line, I can't say enough positive things about her...other than if I owned a law firm, I'd do everything in my power to steal her from whomever is lucky enough to have her onboard. THIS is the kind of attorney you want in your corner. I wouldn't even consider hiring someone else in the Harrisburg area, as it pertains to bankruptcy law. True story: One of my neighbors hired another attorney/firm to handle his chapter 7. I (strongly) recommended Tracy, he chose to save less than $100 by going with somebody else. To this day, he regrets that decision. EVERYTHING was messed up in his paperwork...things not declared that should have been, he wasn't returning emails and/or phone calls promptly. Don't make the same mistake as he did. You want this done correctly, and I would think you want your questions and concerns addressed promptly. Intelligent, punctual, caring, respectful, diligent, honest, passionate. Just a few words I would use to describe Tracy. Good luck!

I had to file for Chapter 13 bankruptcy after a mountain of personal events happened. I met with four different lawyers trying to find a lawyer who wasn't trying to sell me ideas and untruths. I also had several "special" circumstances which needed addresses. I was so happy when I met with Tracy and she was able to answer all of my questions, worries and fears. She was easy to speak with, I didn't feel like she was making any kind of judgment about my situation (which was very embarrassing to me) and she worked to get me a payment plan that I will be able to pay. Tracy was very personable, had a good sense of humor, but was serious about her work and doing the best for my personal situation. She paid close attention to all the details and kept in close contact with me. She understands the bankruptcy laws and the process and adheres to them. I would recommend Tracy to anyone! She will work hard for you!

I have never been more comfortable, and felt listened to and taken care of before by ANY other attorney I've had. Tracy answered ALL my questions and guided me through the process effortlessly. I am so grateful for her time, attention to detail and professionalism.

Tracy represented me in my Chapter 13 Bankruptcy back in 2016. I was 28 and going through a very tough time. I was in the middle of a messy divorce, trying to get my life back together and on top of that my (now) wife and I had just lost our daughter to a heart defect. Tracy walked me through the entire process with ease. She explained everything and ensured me that everything would be ok. I trusted her and she was absolutely right. Anytime I had a question about the case or just in general, she would reply within minutes NO MATTER WHAT TIME OF DAY. I think her ability as a lawyer as well as her compassion for her clients make her an above average choice in representation. More recently my wife and I are in the process of building a home (summer 2021). I am running into issues when it comes to underwriting. I had a foreclosure within my bankruptcy and I had to prove such facts. Long story short, Tracy is one of the reasons that my wife and I's mortgage ultimately got pushed forward in the review process. I haven't paid Tracy a cent in years, but she sill stuck up for me. She forwarded many documents to my broker showing that my information was correct. Again, the communication with her was in the evening and even on the weekends. She is so helpful! I couldn't have picked a better lawyer to help me through one of the toughest times in my life.

This lawyer....I just can't say enough about! Going bankrupt is not an easy decision, and by any means should always be the last resort. When it is the ONLY thing you can do, Look NO FURTHER than Tracy Updike! I already felt horrible over my predicament, and had been in contact with a overly popular bankruptcy company. It had gone as far as actually having an assigned lawyer. But I needed someone to help me access what was best for me, to be there to answer questions that were not so black & white, but pertained to my case, and situation. To help me see the big picture. I received anything but this with that other lawyer, who he and the company made no pretense to make me feel like a number. That's ALL they saw, a number that said dollar signs. I'm convinced in my heart had I gone with them, I would regret it now. When I would call ready to give money someone would pick up in 3 seconds...now call with a question....call wanting advice...yeah have a good time with that..... 3 times I called to give a check to hold, and 3 times I called back to cancel. After searching and searching the internet for someone who would just answer my questions, I...FOUND...TRACY! When I called, SHE answered. I quickly told her my story through tears, among this that I was broke, she didn't hang up on me or tell me she couldn't help. She had me to make an apt. And you see how on this site it says free 60 min. consultation? Yeah this compassionate woman met with me for about an hour and 1/2- 2 hours!!! And I hadn't hired her yet! She answered all of my questions, and needless to say I walked in still feeling like a low number, but when I walked out. I was a HUMAN BEING! My life was not over, this is NOT the worse thing that could happen. There is life after bankruptcy! And a lawyer can be compassionate, kind, very knowledgeable, and treat you with dignity. I knew leaving there that if it was my decision, I didn't have to look any further. That WILL be your experience with Tracy! Once I emailed her a question very late at night so I never expected her to answer. I kept forgetting to email her through the day, so only sent it at that time to make sure I got it out the way. To my shock, she emailed me right back that late!!! She never left me hanging. If she didn't get back to me immediately, she always does in a timely manner. She will honest with you and tell it like it is, but she will be there with you AND for you! And top it off I paid $500 less than that other bogus company was charging. When bankruptcy is the ONLY decision, Look no further folks!!!

Bankruptcy is a life altering experience. To have a highly adept legal counsel to steer you through the process and fight for you in the times when it becomes necessary, Tracy is a real warrior. I am just finishing out my Chapter 13 case in the Middle District court and she is an absolute blessing -- I HIGHLY recommend: Tracy L. Updike, Esq. Before I went to the law firm where she was staffed, I had filed for Chapter 13 with some "other" firm that apparently knew nothing about bankruptcy law and could quite possibly have had my case dismissed from the very beginning...failure to file certain documents, to be exact. Tracy is very knowledgeable and simply the greatest person to work with; very friendly, supportive, and a valuable asset to any firm she chooses to work with. A personaL note, "Tracy, THANK YOU for your expertise and delivery of great service!"

I spoke to many different people. Mostly Debt Consolidation Companies. Which I knew I would never be able to afford any of those payments. I then thought Bankruptcy may be the best way to go. But everyone talks negatively about actually going through with a Bankruptcy. Tracy was very personable, I did not feel judge by her at all (Which is something I wanted). The fears I did have Tracy explained everything in detail to me that I understood. To know it is possible one day to have a good credit score again. She always answered my emails back within 24 hours. I would defiantly recommend her to others.

I/wife/company went through an amazingly difficult period, where all three were embroiled in a vindictive lawsuit. During this time, I had become disabled and unable to work. I couldn't defend the lawsuits against a large corporate team of lawyers. Needless to say I have had the need of a multitude of lawyers. Tracy was the only lawyer that listened, and I dealt with a team of lawyers for about 1.5 years. Tracy was very empathetic to our situation. We were flat out done. Instead of chasing us away like most lawyers would and did, Tracy worked with us and cared about our plight. She went way above and beyond than what her scope rashly was. She was a lawyer and a person that could empathize with the plight of her clients. A lot of lawyers we worked with our interviewed were perplexed and confused as how to handle the case. Tracy wasn't daunted or confused. She said, "This is nothing. I got this!". Tracy definitely supported her confidence with exceptional knowledge and kindness. If you are searching for a bankruptcy lawyer, look no further than Tracy Updike! You will regret going somewhere else. Stop your search here. You will be wasting your time and potentially jeopardizing your future!

Bankruptcy is frightening. Tracy made it bearable. She was straight forward, easy to interact with, and did an outstanding job. She has a friendly demeanor, vast knowledge of the law, and a genuine desire to do well for her clients. Tracy laid it all out for us right from the start. She let us know what we needed and gave us time to gather the information. Her examination of our records was thorough and we were astounded at how much time and energy she devoted to us in the free consultation. Afterwards, we had a secure feeling of where we were and what we wanted to do. Throughout the process, Tracy kept us informed. She also handled our multiple questions with prompt and helpful responses. She maintained a casual and highly competent manner. Not once did we ever feel judged or mislead by her. Having a pleasant personality, superior communication skills, and outstanding competence makes Tracy a top-notch attorney! Filing for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy is gut-wrenching. Tracy took a lot of the uneasiness out of the experience. We’re thankful for her excellent work and happily recommend her services.
