Tom Slorby was able to clean up a huge mess left by previous counsel. He had less than a week to prepare for our hearing. His commitment to us and the law saved a life. This in turned allowed the actions of a man to save another life in an accident. He is professional, responsible and responsive, even though we are from another state. I highly recommend Tom. He knows the law and represents his clients with the highest regards for their individual circumstances.
To say that we were disappointed in this so called lawyer would be the biggest understatement I have ever made. I will start by first off saying that the first time we met with him in his stale smelling, messy office; he had stains down the front of his shirt, messy hair, completely unorganized. Not like any lawyer I have ever seen before, and in my line of work I deal with plenty. When we initially spoke with him over the phone he was very polite, nice, seemed to genuinely care about our situation. (My stepsons mother would not let us see him) Well that COMPLETELY changed when we gave him a retainer and met him in person. He refused to let us talk and I do mean refused, as in EVERY TIME we opened our mouths, he interrupted us. He proceeded to tell me (the stepmother of 5 years) that it doesn't affect my life, has nothing to do with me. I don't need to be involved. That's a quote, those were his exact words. I was so livid at this point that I walked out the office. My husband stayed in there, as he's passive. He is IMPOSSIBLE to get a hold of and HORRIBLE at returning calls. By midway through the custody battle, we felt as though he was 110% on the other parties side! We felt as though we could have VERY EASILY gotten more than we did, the judge was certainly on our side, however we did not feel like Tom was. He didn't fight for us, and he agreed with the other party that every other weekend for us all year long was 50/50. Our 7 year old knows that that is in fact no where near 50/50. I think we could have gotten better outcome had we represented ourselves. He is by far the most unprofessional lawyer I have seen in all my years. I HIGHLY recommend using somebody, ANYBODY else! I genuinely hope this helps!
