About
Todd W. Fennell was born in Vero Beach, Florida and co-chairs the Estate Planning and Tax Group at Gould Cooksey Fennell and focuses his practice on sophisticated estate and tax planning strategies for high net worth individuals and families. In addition, Mr. Fennell's areas of concentration include complex estate planning and probate administration, family office administration, corporate and partnership tax, business formation, business acquisition and sale, and charitable planning. He is "AV" rated by Martindale-Hubbell's peer review rating system, the highest such rating available to any individual lawyer. Mr. Fennell also serves as the firm's Managing Partner. Mr. Fennell graduated with high honors from the University of Florida College of Law where he earned a Juris Doctor degree and graduate law degree (LL.M) in Taxation. While attending law school, he earned several honors and awards including membership into the Order of the Coif, the Irving Cypen Scholastic Achievement Award and the Richard B. Stevens Scholar Recipient. Mr. Fennell served as the Chief Tax Editor and Assistant Executive Editor of the University of Florida Law Review. Upon graduation, Mr. Fennell practiced in the tax department at the large commercial law firm of Trenam Kemker in Tampa, Florida. Mr. Fennell is admitted to practice before the tax court of the United States. He is also a member of the Tax Section of the American Bar Association, the Tax Section and Real Property and Probate Section of the Florida Bar, the Indian River County Bar Association and the Indian River Estate Planning Council. He is also a frequent lecturer on the issues of estate tax and planning and probate and trust administration. In addition to the practice of law, Mr. Fennell is actively involved as a board member of various charitable and civic organizations including the Planned Giving Council of Indian River, Inc., the Environmental Learning Center Foundation, Inc., and the Fighting Indians Football Boosters, Inc.
