Todd was recommended to me by a friend and he proved to be a great choice. He was open and honest every step of the way through my divorce, even when it wasn't what I wanted to hear. He kept me centered on what was important, and also fought for things that were important to me. He helped me let go of things that weren't worth fighting for, and was realistic about negotiations and outcomes. Sometimes the divorce process seems like it is being drug out by the attorneys so they can make more money, but I never got that from Todd. The process took longer that hoped, but Todd always kept up on his responsibilities, and was always prompt when communicating with me. I would highly recommend him!
I retained Todd for my divorce and I could not have made a better choice. He was prompt and factual, yet sensitive and delicate when needed. My divorce was nearly effortless and complete in record time. Since my divorce I have needed further assistance and Todd and his staff are a call or email away at all times. I will use him again for any matter related to custody and would recommend him to anyone going through divorce.
Todd did an excellent job maintaining follow through on an extended process. He is thorough, deliberate, professional, and ethical in his approach to cases. He is forthcoming and transparent when discussing possible outcomes, and provides timely follow-up to questions/inquiries either in person, by phone or email. I developed complete confidence and trust in Todd’s counsel, & would recommend him without hesitation.
I hired Mr. Miller when I was unable to hire his partner. I thought I was "getting the next best thing" however in my opinion, I ended up with the BEST! Mr. Miller took a sincere interest in my situation and advised me during a time of marital crisis, including domestic violence. He had the wisdom to guide me in the direction of what was in my best interest, and when I was unsure of a decision to make, he displayed patience and did not push. In the very beginning, my safety was his highest priority, including spending an entire day in court the day after I hired him, to ensure that I was safe and protected by the courts. Mr. Miller was extremely thorough in his explanations and displayed utmost tolerance with regard to my insatiable curiosity and constant desire to understand the legal process within the court system, which essentially had taken over my life temporarily. He was punctual, thorough and highly organized. He expressed gratitude and took no offense when, on one occasion, I took it upon myself to research a particular issue that resulted in Mr. Miller changing his course of action and expediting a particular motion. Mr. Miller was truthful and accurate, to the extent that one can be within the realm of court proceedings, with regard to how long the process would take. When opposing counsel was slow to move or respond, let alone complete papers that were her responsibility, Mr. Miller stepped up to the plate and proceeded in an effort to finish my proceedings as swiftly as possible, including doing the research and paperwork himself. In the end, I feel that the judge made decisions that were fair but highly in my favor, due to Mr. Miller’s overall professionalism, preparedness and diligence. After all was said and done, I also hired him to do my will and power of attorney. Heaven forbid I ever need another attorney, but in the event I do, I will be hiring Mr. Miller.
Todd is straight forward. He told me up front what to expect and the challenges I would be faced with moving forward in my case. Todd is very knowledgeable about family law and I never had to wait very long for a response to my questions, mostly within an hour or two. My child's well being was his only priority and he worked with me on the retainer knowing I could not quickly afford it. What impressed me the most about Todd was that he was so driven to help me protect my child that he gave me his personal phone number in the event I had an emergency and he was not at the office. Todd even responded to an email I had sent to his assistant while he was on his family vacation and helped me resolve an issue while away on his personal time. Todd never gave me the impression that I could win the case but rather told me what the likelihood is that the outcome of my case may not be satisfactory. Honesty is what I expected and that is what I received. The outcome of my case was good and my child is safe. Thank you Todd for your commitment to my case.
Todd kept me informed every step of the way. During our initial meeting, I shared concerns about my case, applicable case law & the desired outcome. Todd offered reassurance and made it clear he would fight for me. He developed a solid strategy and was a skillful negotiator with opposing counsel. Todd ensured that opposing counsel adhered to the rules of discovery. He was persistent to ensure that the respondent provided FULL disclosure to ALL interrogatories. He negotiated matters of child support, maintenance and property division in a very reasonable fashion. While ultimately my preference would not have been to go the route I did, Todd's skills as an expert litigator, negotiator and counselor along with his ability to deftly navigate the Court and Legal System helped me achieve an outcome I can live with; and I can rebuild my life without ongoing financial repercussions. Todd helped me navigate a sad situation with grace, dignity that resulted in a positive outcome. I highly recommend Todd and his firm: Ogar and Miller. There I a saying "you get what you pay for". Todd and his staff were worth every cent I paid to ensure my life wasn't ruined by an already bad situation..
I highly recommend Todd Miller and the office of Ogar & Miller. Throughout my divorce, Todd listened to my concerns, answered my questions, kept me informed, and provided honest and trustworthy advice. My case was a bit unusual because it included a military pension. Todd put in the extra effort to learn about the federal legislation that protects the marital assets of military spouses and the special wording required for the military to recognize and follow the judgement. He also provided guidance for the financial needs of my college-age child. In the courtroom, Todd showed that he knew my case inside and out by asking questions that brought out the truths that the judge needed to hear. In addition, Todd's legal assistant and the office staff were extremely helpful and responsive to my needs.
I am a self employed dad with 1 child. Went through a long child support battle because I was a 1099 not W2 earner. District 4 is very unfair towards 1099 earners. Todd worked hard to educate me on what was happening and he worked hard to get the best result he could in my situation. My daughter was a very high concern to him and he is just a class guy! He isn't just a attorney he is a dad too. I was very pleased with his efforts! Thanks Todd
Todd seems bored by what he does, he lacks passion, has little to no fight in him, and if lawyers had such a thing as “bedside manner” Todd’s bedside manner would be nonexistent. He has little patience or tolerance for the emotional side of a divorce and does nothing to make things easier on his clients. His paralegal Nichole is really no better in that regard. I also found myself having to follow up multiple times to make sure things were getting done in a timely manner. Mistakes were made by them that could have and frankly should have been avoided. Ultimately after 6 months, and right before we were supposed to go to trial I finally became so frustrated by the service (or lack thereof) that I was being given I decided to voice my frustrations in an email. I felt I wasn’t being heard, they weren’t doing their due diligence, and I was fed up. I made it clear I would be writing a review of my experience with their law firm and it would be honest. I did not use derogatory language, I simply voiced my concerns to them. They did not take my negative feedback well and Todd decided to withdraw as my lawyer. That’s right, in the 11th hour they quit my case because their feelings were hurt. In 6 months I spent over $20,000 in legal fees to this firm, only to get nowhere with my case. I will not be recommending this firm to anyone.
He didn't update me at all about the case. I constantly had to call to get updated or informed about everything. He basically got me the bare minimum of child visitation something I could've probably represented myself and still end up getting the same. Do not waste your time and money
