About

I began my practice of law on November 5, 2009. I worked on a large number and variety of civil cases between then and now. I also practiced law with several different firms. I learned how to write wills, set up companies, serve on a board of directors, draft trusts, divorce couples, evict tenants, litigate against some of the largest companies in the world, handle probate cases and finally to help people buy and sell real estate. On July 2, 2018, I decided to open TMB law, a local DuPage firm focused on helping people through everyday issues. I handle all questions, concerns, and documents- personally. I am available, by appointment, outside of routine business hours for your convenience.

My husband and I contacted Tim on a recommendation and we're glad we did. He helped each of us set up a will, financial power of attorney and medical power of attorney. His advice during the process was much needed and beneficial. He was accommodating to our schedules for in-person appointments.

I was so pleased with the consultation via phone. Timothy really took the time to explain in detail and answered all of my questions. I will definitely keep him in mind for future opportunities!

I called Tim yesterday with some quick questions about an issue with my landlord and he was more than helpful. Answered any questions I had and then some. Expected to get an answer then be done but he took almost 30 minutes out of his day to sit on the phone and explain every option I had and walk me through the steps of what I needed to do. Very personable, very easy to talk to, and I would highly recommend him.

I was in the process of evicting a tenant. I had attempted it on my own but ran into a problem when in court on 8/31/17. The judge indicated I needed an attorney and called out 2 of them in court, Tim was one of them. Tim stated he charges $500 for an eviction in court. When I reached out to Timothy M Barnes after court, he charged me $650 to finish my eviction and he charged me more than double for a process server. The average cost is $70 and he charged me $150. Timothy M Barnes took advantage of me because he knew the situation I was in. I would not use Tim to handle any issues I have in the future. Note: Tim is no longer at Guthrie & Brady, however, Guthrie & Brady law firm did reimburse me $150 for the eviction but did stand on the $150 charge for the process server.
