About

In his more than 30 years of practice, Tim Schlesinger has become well-known for his skill and experience in the areas of complex divorce, family law and assisted reproductive technologies (ART). Mr. Schlesinger’s divorce and family law practice emphasizes complex financial issues involving business valuation, maintenance (spousal support) and substantial net worth. In addition, Mr. Schlesinger is in great demand for the preparation of surrogacy agreements, embryo and egg donation agreements, as well as the legal actions necessary to establish parentage when children are born as the result of these agreements.Couples who previously could not have children can now build their families through assisted reproductive technologies (ART). Mr. Schlesinger helps clients seeking to build their families through such methods as surrogacy, gestational carriers, egg donation, embryo donation, sperm donation, in-vitro fertilization and other processes. At our Firm, we draft surrogacy agreements, gestational carrier agreements, egg, embryo and sperm donation agreements and in-vitro fertilization process agreements designed to protect your rights, no matter which part you play in the process. In cases involving gestational carriers or surrogacy, once the baby is born we help prospective parents through the court process to be declared the lawful parents of the child. Mr. Schlesinger uses his extensive knowledge of ART and family law to help you create or build your family.Mr. Schlesinger is a frequent speaker and lecturer on a wide range of family law and ART topics for sponsors of continuing legal education such as the American Bar Association Family Law Section, The Missouri Bar, The Washington University in St. Louis School of Law, the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law, the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis and the National Business Institute. He has authored many articles for legal journals and chapters in legal books and he created the chapter on assisted reproductive technologies for the Missouri Bar Family Law Continuing Legal Education Deskbook. In 2015, Mr. Schlesinger received appointment to the executive council of the American Bar Association (Family Law Section) Assisted Reproductive Technologies Committee.

Tim is first and foremost knowledgeable. Which you want of course, but what makes him someone that I consistently recommend is that he is reasonable and works for the good of his client above all things. His opinions and strategies are based in experience, but tempered with an understanding of human behavior and the real world. He's also easy to be around. The best!

Tim is a very experienced lawyer who knows how domestic cases are handled. His advice was direct, his approach is no nonsense and he absolutely played a significant role in protecting my custody rights and getting me to the best possible outcome in a difficult situation.
