Due to unforeseen circumstance I needed to file for bankruptcy. My stress was elevated by choosing Gillis Law. I gave them 1 star only because the bankruptcy has closed, but dealing with them was very frustrating. They do not return calls. It takes 2-3 emails before a response is given and only after placing *****3RD REQUEST***** in the subject line. I've needed to go into the office a few times. One, the receptionist - or the lady closest to the door was on a personal phone call about her checking account. She didn't look up or acknowledge I was standing there. All she had to do was look up, smile and say I'll be right with you. (Customer Service 101), My representative did not even know who I was - even after dealing with me for 2 years. I sat down with him after scheduling an appointment per a phone conversation discussing the reason for the appointment. After a 20 minute wait in the lobby he sits down and asks me what I needed. He didn't have my file in front of him and I had to remind him of the reason for my visit. I had to ask questions that I thought were important and it was like pulling teeth to get answers. As a professional in a business where most people do not know what it all intails he was not forthcoming in giving detailed information regarding the process. I received more information from another attorney I contacted by phone then what I received from this office. The deal breaker for me was when I needed to go to court, I was informed by my representative to meet him in his office an hour before. I get to the office as instructed and he was not there and no one knew I was coming. I sat in the office for about 15 minutes before someone who worked doing who knows what told me to go to court and someone would be there. I was called to enter court..... no one was there. They showed up 1 minute before my name was called.
