Tom Tuohy founded Tuohy Law Offices represent the working class and provide Living Trust and Estate Planning, Small Business and Personal Injury services. Tom served as Special Assistant Attorney General of Illinois and founded Tuohy Law Offices in 1982. Recognizing a need for client information and open access to essential legal services, Tom founded the Fraternal Order of Police Legal Benefits Plan in 1990. His firm has represented over 14,000 individuals and is recognized as one of the top labor firms and provides legal education seminars to municipal employees, members of unions and to the general public. Tom founded the Comprehensive Benefits of America, LLC in 2015 to provide progressive employee benefits for the middle class. As a son of a single parent, Tom chose to reach out to at-risk youth and later to kids with disabilities. He founded Dreams For Kids in 1989. Working with the most isolated youth in every community inspired Tom to create an award-winning social enterprise based youth service and leadership curriculum that emphasizes opportunity over charity. Youth, sponsored by individuals and local businesses, pay it forward by building social projects while learning life and business skills. In 2011, Stanford Graduate School of Business awarded Tom a Fellowship to study and share best practices on social innovation with 46 corporate and nonprofit leaders from 14 countries. That same year Tom became an Executive Scholar of Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern. Tom speaks extensively to business organizations, labor unions, student groups and educators on the topics of social entrepreneurship and social enterprise, volunteerism and social activism, estate and legacy planning, nonprofit management, and youth empowerment.
