This lawyer told me my case was in good hands, and then he failed to file before time ran out. Absolute disaster

I saw him on 9/10 of last year he was very positive on the 1st meeting told me in a few weeks I would get copies of everything and my claim that was to be filed in court. All sounded good to me, well that was the beginning and the end of it all, as of today 7/12/11 I have fired him and went to pick my file up. In almost a year I could not reach him on the phone, he does not return phone calls his office is very unprofessional. One time I did get to talk to him he told me he would call me back in an hour and he never did. I called him back two days later and some lady answered the phone said he was not in I told her was supposed to call me back and she laughed. I told her this was not funny and to tell him make sure he calls me back, he never did so I called back the next day and talked to one of the other attorneys in office of course Tom was not there. I explained to him what I needed and he could not help me so I told him to make sure Tom calls me or I will coming down to pick up my file up he said you have to do what you have to do. Of course still no return phone call fromTom. So on Monday afternoon I called to tell them to have my file ready and Tom answered the phone, he told me I had to wait until Tuesday to pick it up and I told him I was firing him he did not seem to care I told him he has done nothing for me and I don't even know if he filed a claim for me. Of course I heard about problelms in the office with staff I told him not my problem if you could not do my case you should have told me and not keep blowing me off. I was referred to him by a very good friend and now this friend feels awful and its not their fault. Bottom line I pick up my file today and there has been nothing done, no claim has been filed nothing and his biggest concern to me on the phone was he has to get paid for what he had done for me. I did receive a phone call before I went to get my file from a very nice lady in the office where she came from I don't know because in a years time I never taked to her. She ask me to reconsider leaving I told her I have no trust or faith in him it's way too late.
