About

I was raised in Troy, Alabama, graduated Auburn University and the University of Alabama School of Law.  Early in my practice, I handled a broad range of civil and criminal matters.  As a criminal lawyer, I have handled close to a thousand criminal cases and have tried numerous non-jury and jury cases, including the highly-publicized Baker v. State involving a 15 year-old black boy charged with the murder of a well-known white business woman in South Alabama (Google Albert Baker, Jr. v. State of Alabama, 1986 for details and a report of the conviction reversal).  I am now using my experience in business, as founder and CEO of The Sheffield Workers Comp Fund in Alabama and as CEO of Accident Insurance Company, and my training in DUI Defense to drive my private law practice centered in Baldwin County, Alabama.
