Lawson is a great guy and lawyer. He and his staff were very responsive and easy to work with remotely in selling our home. I would use him again.
Our Experience with Lawson was that he was: Very unaccessible, unprepared and arrogant. He had our case for 8 months and did virtually nothing but bill us. We were in danger of losing our home to a civil suite and after 8 months he had done no discovery/interrogatories, no depositions, no research or citing of case law or case prep. It was very upsetting and extremely stressful for us unnecessarily because we were constantly in the dark, we could rarely get in touch with him because he was very often out of town refereeing basketball games, golfing or in the Cayman Islands. Routinely his office could not even get in touch with him. He constantly shot from the hip and arrogantly touted to us and even the judge during a hearing (where he also misrepresented the facts of our case) about his 34 years of experience. As far as our case was concerned he only made our bad situation worse by his total lack of concern and preparation and his egotistical attitude. For us it was an expensive and stressful nightmare. So, much so that we had to fire him and find a new attorney. We are very upset and disappointed by our experience with Lawson Newton and I would not recommend him for any litigation.
