Very aggressive lawyer does NOT sugarcoat anything he tells it like it is and not to be mean but because he speaks nothing but the truth. He know’s what he is doing! I will definitely hire him again if need be. Hire Thomas James Madden for any legal issues I promise you won’t regret it.

Mr Madden knew exactly the right way to handle my case. He made me feel very comfortable and relaxed and calmed my frazzled nerves. He knew just the right things to say to me to keep me calm, and knew exactly how to deal with the state on my charge. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who needs an attorney.

After interviewing several attorney's I hired Mr Madden to defend me on driving on suspended/revoked license charges stemming from a bureaucratic nightmare with the MVA. Mr Madden did an great job and explained exactly what was going to happen. In one case he got the case dismissed, in the other he minimized the points. I am retaining him again to represent me with the MVA. His fees were also very reasonable.

My case consisted of a DUI and a 2nd degree assault charge, both stemming from the same incident/night. I shopped around before settling on a lawyer, and in my research, I got turned off from all of the bigger firms because of their brusque attitudes and insanely high rates. I happened to receive a flyer in the mail with Mr. Madden's practice information, and my interest was perked by the fact that he actually has flexible hours, including Saturdays. With the initial call, I was sold. He took the time to talk to me in detail about my case, told me exactly what the fees would be to retain his services, and gave me the rundown on what our likely course of action would be. I was able to pay via credit card over the phone, and he mailed me the retainer documents and receipts. With the DUI, my ability to commute was crippled, along with childcare responsibilities, I really can't stress how helpful it was to have an attorney that didn't drag me out to his office to discuss the case. On to the case, he was able to have my DUI and 2nd degree assault charge consolidated onto one docket, in one courtroom, handled at the same time with the same judge. I didn't do myself any favors during the process of my arrest, chattering away to the officers, giving them a pretty solid case against me. Mr. Madden was extraordinarily tolerant. Even when I failed to heed his (repeated!!) insistence that I complete an alcohol program, he still worked with me to present the situation to the court in the best possible light. He responded (timely) to all e-mails, text messages, and phone calls, and all calls were always informative and detailed. I never felt like I was being brushed aside or disregarded. On the court date, he presented my case to the judge in the best way possible. On my own, as nervous as I was, and as bad as the situation looked, I likely would be sitting in a jail cell right now. To be clear, it wasn't a matter of guilt by any means, I screwed up. It was about damage mitigation, making things better with minimal consequence. 2nd degree assault in Maryland carries a maximum of two years, it's not something I'd take chances with. The end result was probation before judgement (PBJ) for both charges, with monitored probation, and a couple of minor requirements. He indicated if that I need his assistance in having the 2nd degree assault expunged off my record in three years that he'd be happy to help me through that process. 100% professionalism, all the way through. Did he occasionally have things to say that I didn't want to hear? Absolutely. Did my tender feelings get hurt once or twice? Probably. But I didn't hire him to tell me what I want to hear, I hired him to help me fix my situation with the best possible outcome, and he delivered. Honestly, even when he was delivering (much needed) criticism of my situation, you could tell that it was with my best interests in mind. If you find yourself in need of counsel, I'd recommend Mr. Madden in a heartbeat. Hopefully, I won't have need of legal services (of this nature) in the future, but if I did, his would be the first number that I would call.

I met Mr Madden through my brother in law my husband was working on a second DUI within a month mr Madden was professional never held anything back told us exactly what was going to happen step for step he did a wonderful job my husband greatly appreciates all the hard work that he did for him, I appreciate it he never served one day in jail he paid some fines and he has restrictions on his driver's license but that's to be expected for what he did I was so very grateful that he did not go to jail. he was a godsend and we were very grateful to have him as our attorney and yes we will call him back again if something ever came up again

Was in a bind and needed representation. Mr. Madden was extremely professional and knowledgeable. Not to mention the service he gave was very much affordable. I've had very high priced representation and was given way better service by Mr. Madden. I would without a doubt use him again if anything unfortunate were to happen.

Extremely professional, sensible and well learned in his field! I really felt that I chose the right attorney for the job. Pricing was affordable. I wouldn't think twice about calling him again, if ever I needed a defense attorney.

Upon initial conversations, Mr. Madden was professional, courteous, and encouraging regarding the potential outcome of the trial. As soon as I made a contract with him and paid him, a complete turnaround occurred. From then on he was unbelievably rude, even about non-legal related personal topics, and quite negative. As per the trial, his performance was disappointing as well. He never defended any part of my case. Instead, he pointed out what I had done since my dwi, and tried claiming I changed my life around. He never discussed, with me, what angle he was going to take with the defense. I would have disagreed on using that argument. I won't go into the sad specifics of how he conducted himself in court. I wish I did my research before signing with him.
