I had never been in trouble with the law before and even though I work for a law firm it did not deal with the type of moving violation I had. I sought out Mr. Cvietkovich because I realized I was in way over my head. Before my Court date he informed me of what to expect, how to proceed and not to worry that he was going to discuss the case with the DA and see where they were at. This was a huge relief. After he spoke with them he let me know I would be looking at community service. I was 100% ok with this and it was a better outcome than having to pay a high fine. I got my community hours and was very pleased with how many I had to serve. It seemed very fair to me and once I served my hours, my case was dismissed. Mr. Cvietkovich was VERY professional and knowledgeable and was able to lower my anxiety. He was able with his knowledge of the law to get me an outcome that both pleased the court and me. I would and have recommended him to friends and family alike. He is an excellent attorney.
I decided to hire Nick to represent me after my DUI arrest. He set realistic expectations for the odds of me winning my case, and reviewed a solid plan of action he was going to take to try to exonerate my record. At no point did I feel like he made any false promises, nor did he ever pressure me to go to trial. In the end I was convicted (my odds were slightly above weak at best) but Nick was able to get my sentence significantly reduced, both with my DUI class length and my community service time. He also offered one of the best quotes for his services, and went above and beyond in terms of service and courtesy.
Thomas worked diligently through my case, was straight about procedures, costs and expectations and was prompt to reply back when communicated. He notably was the best attorney I’ve ever had thus far.
I was charged for hitting a car and leaving the scene. I was very scared and worried of the repercussions. The DA wanted to throw the book at me, but I hired Nick and he was able to take care of it for me. I trusted him with the case and he got the job done. I would recommend him to anyone who found themselves in the same situation.
My case was no sh*t. I was looking at prison. Not jail, prison. First offense, veteran of the armed forces, blah blah blah. None of this exonerated me from anything. I took it too far on a guy's face and there were hospital bills. This is felony sh*t, with eyewitness video, and I hd no money. My girlfriend paid for everything, and what we paid for has kept me free to this day. I am writing this from home. And that is what matters. I will not discuss the cost of his services, but my girl was given two payments to make it happen. 15 months passed between the incident and my sentencing. In those 15 months the attorney responded to 90% all communication personally and within the same day. I began to freak out and told me to keep calm and stay lawyered up. I got mixed messages from the courts, and asked Nick "what the heck is going on?!?!?!?" He told me to take his advice and stay out of jail. I did and I did. Due to the attorney's familiarity with the county, the court, and the law, I was able to serve time on electronic monitoring. I have read most of the reviews here. Nick does not offer bro-hugs and bedside manner. If you are in his office, you are kinda f^cked. Like I was! Even if his manner feels gruff, I urge you to ask yourself this: Do I want someone to make me feel better through all this or do I want a lawyer who is savvy? This defense attorney will not grease your emotional wheels to make you feel better. He may keep you the heck out of prison. Or jail. Again, there is video of my incident, and attorneys and judges speak a language that we, the common folks, do not. I was kept out of prison and there is a possibility of expungement. I even spoke with two other SJ lawyers about my attorney, and they both mentioned that he was a courteous colleague and effective lawyer. He even communicated with me at airports between flights to relay that he was traveling and the office would be in touch. In closing, there may have been 1 or 2 clerical errors that the court staff created/missed that my attorney Nick did not miss. He rectified some sh*t. Take it from me, as I was distracted by Nick's manner at times, he knows the courts and system and the legal language you don't. Excellent work, I believe.
Prior to hiring a Criminal Defense Attorney, I had no priors, a clean record and only a handful of parking tickets in my lifetime. I was facing 3 felonies and potential prison time according to my Public Defender. This case involved words that came out of my mouth the wrong way according to the reports and the prosecution. An alcoholic and a 46-time jailed sex offender were victims of me on paper. I felt like this was my welcoming to the system. The victims did not realize that charges would be pressed against me by the DA and wished to drop all charges in the case, instead the DA denied their request and pressed charges against me. My Public Defender was of no help whatsoever and was simply "going through the motions." I contacted Criminal Defense Attorney Thomas Nicholas Cvietkovich through my close friend John. I then consulted with Attorney Thomas Cvietkovich. When I walked into his office I felt intimidated at first. This is because he has a strong presence and is extremely experienced in his field. I consider myself to have a strong judgment of character; after a short conversation I hired him in my defense without hesitation. I felt like I was treated with utmost respect. I could feel that Thomas Cvietkovich cared about me and my current situation, constantly encouraging me to continue to do what I love day by day and to take care of myself through the entire process of resolving my case. If there is such a thing as going above actual above and beyond, Thomas Cvietkovich accomplished this. My charges were lowered to a misdemeanor. He fought for what was right and for my justice. I cannot thank Thomas Cvietkovich enough for standing by my side, fighting for me every step of the way and for allowing me to rebuild my life in a positive light. Thomas Nicholas Cvietkovich, his associates and staff deserve a 6th star. Thank you for defending me and protecting my future Thomas. We only have one life and I feel like you were sent from God to protect me. Keep up the good work.
I feel Nick handle my case very well. He kept me in the loop at all times. If I had concerns, he made sure they were taken care of. If I ever need a lawyer again, I would be calling Nick.
My 21 yr old son had violated his felony probation & had 2 new charges. He was facing 6-8 yrs in prison. Nick fought hard for my son. My son was sentenced last month to 1 year of rehab & 3 yrs of probation thanks to Nick Cvietkovich. I've put my faith in Public Defenders in the past regarding my son and the outcome was more than disappointing. I am very impressed with Mr. Cvietkovich's expertise. Thank you so much Nick, I am so thankful & grateful for hiring you!
I was pulled over by the police in San Jose about 4 months ago with a .09 blood alcohol level. I knew I had to get some help. This was my first time ever needing legal help. When I spoke with Nick he sounded like a nice guy. He was knowledgeable and offered a very reasonable price. So I went with him and hoped for the best. Little did I know I had just hired an excellent lawyer. He went to work right away. He made me feel comfortable and was always quick to get back to my questions and concerns and always kept me informed with the case. Four months later his strategy worked great. I had prepared myself for a DUI sentence but was hoping to get at least a wet reckless. I ended up walking away with a dry reckless and a small fine. My license was not affected either. I cant thank him enough. Nick is a very intelligent, personable and clever lawyer. He knows the system well and was able to get me the lightest possible sentence. If I ever have any legal questions or need any legal help in the future, he will be my first call.
My cousin referred me to Nick when I was arrested for hit & run. I was told this could get me deported. Nick help me a lot to get better deal. He was able to get that charge dropped and lesser charges for the others. I'm was very happy with him and the work he did for me. Also, I can understand Nick, but sometimes his secretary help to translate. She was also very nice and helped me alot.

He was able to get that charge dropped and lesser charges for the others. I'm was very happy with him and the work he did for me. Also, I can understand Nick, but sometimes his secretary help to translate. She was also very nice and helped me alot.
