About
I have been practicing law for over two decades.I've litigated and won jury trials involving negligent road design, nursing home abuse and financial exploitation of vulnerable adults, insurance agent negligence and insurance bad faith, medical malpractice, premises liability cases and motor vehicle personal injury cases. When it is in the client’s best interest, I will settle cases through negotiation and mediation. After graduating from high school in Newington, Connecticut, I worked for small law firm in Hartford. That experience piqued my interest in becoming a lawyer. After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics and Government from the University of Hartford, I transferred to the University of San Diego where I earned a law degree. While I was in law school, I worked as a Summer Associate at a large corporate law firm in Stamford, Connecticut. After graduating, I joined the firm but found that I was more interested in litigation and advocacy than corporate representation so I left to firm to serve as Managing Attorney for White Mountain Legal Aid in Show Low, Arizona. There, I represented clients in domestic relations and consumer matters. I later transferred to the Southern Arizona Legal Aid Office, where I focused primarily on domestic relations matters and legislative advocacy. After nearly four years with Southern Arizona Legal Aid, I joined Goldberg & Osborne and began handling injury cases. I left the firm to become a partner at a local personal injury firm before I joined the Khalidi Law Firm, PLLC in 2013. I found that the Khalidi Law Firm shares my values of client advocacy and honest legal representation.I litigated a nursing home appellate case which resulted in a published opinion from the Arizona Court of Appeals Division II, Corbett v. Manor Care. I also helped draft legislation on domestic violence and child support and litigated a case on child custody jurisdiction, which resulted in a published Arizona Supreme Court opinion.I've tried cases in Pima, Maricopa, Navajo, Apache, Santa Cruz, and Cochise counties in Arizona and in the United States District Court for the District of Arizona and in Federal District Court in Pennsylvania and Colorado. I've handled cases in White Mountain Apache and Tohono O’odham tribal courts, as well as the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals and the Arizona Supreme Court.I have a strong commitment to improving the lives of the vulnerable people in our Tucson community. I have volunteered for non-profit organizations that advocate for victims and served as legal counsel for a study at the University of Arizona on restorative justice for sexual assault cases. I've given presentations on victims’ rights, domestic violence, and nursing home abuse and neglect at the university and to various professional organizations. Currently, volunteer to teach adults how to read.
