About
"There must be a better way!" Not an original thought, perhaps; but a sound opinion based on Terry's nearly 36 years of litigation experience. His trial experience, his personal divorce 30 years ago, over 25 years of helping clients deal with alcohol, substance abuse and domestic violence issues, and numerous appointments representing children in custody disputes have convinced Terry that most conflicts--especially in family law--are better handled outside the courtroom with the help of trained and sensitive mediators. Terry Mead is no slouch in court. Named a Southwest Super Lawyer in the area of general civil litigation, Terry also has earned the profession's top national Peer Review Rating and is listed in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers. His experience ranges from defamation, copyright, trademark and business litigation to divorce and custody hearings. And his community work as a volunteer attorney, Scout leader, and supporter of diversity programs have earned Terry numerous unsought recognitions. In early 2015, Terry closed his law firm, Mead & Associates, which once had as many as eight attorneys and operated for 22 years at the corner of 67th Avenue and Cactus Road in Glendale. With a smaller staff and on his own (but definitely not retired), Terry is more selective of his cases and is trying to devote more time to individual clients. Continuing his 36-year tradition, Terry still strives to "give attorneys a good name!" Terry earned his bachelor's degree summa cum laude in Social Change & Development from the University of Wisconsin—Green Bay and both law and master's (journalism) degrees from the University of Wisconsin—Madison. In 2006, he underwent intensive mediation training with Alhadeff & Forbes Mediation Services of Seattle, Washington. He belongs to the Maricopa County Association of Family Mediators, has served on the board of the Association for Conflict Resolution's Arizona chapter, and works to spread the message of "peer mediation" programs in area high schools. He and Amy Vavra founded the Arizona Center for Conflict Resolution & Education in 2007, promoting mediation and Do-It-Mostly-Yourself Divorce programs as alternatives to litigation. An Eagle Scout, former Cubmaster and Scoutmaster for his now-adult sons, and past member of the BSA Grand Canyon Council's executive board, Terry’s favorite activities involve the outdoors (hiking and backpacking), writing, photography and assisting with worship services at his currently lay-led church.

I have used Terry for several business related issues. He has always been a true professional and has gave me sound advice which has helped me immensely.I would recommend his services to anyone. He has also reffered me to other attorneys in areas that he is not fully experienced in.I have been completely happy.
I am a Special Real Estate Commissioner and worked with Terrance Mead on a difficult Divorce case. His office always communicated with me about the case and what the next steps were. Terrance Mead and his staff are very professional and really worked hard for our client! Their attention to detail, advice and professionalism were amazing. I look forward to working with Terrance & his staff in the future and would recommend them for anyone going through a divorce!
Atty. Terrance Mead breathed life back into me during my marital dissolution. One only learns how deeply emotional distress encompasses one's being when the realization that love-ever-after has been but a myth and that happily-ever-after may truly be best suited for fairy tales. I was a mess! Not even the best of friends could find the right words to ease my pain. My mind working 24/7 looping over and over again through every facet of my marriage trying desperately to comprehend all the whys ... as well as all the legal and financial ramifications, legal terminology, and a future that looked mighty bleak. Attorney Mead had the "right words"; he was able to explains legal things clearly in terms that I could understand; he was reassuring when he spoke with me in a calm voice, his confidence natural not forced. He was very considerate when it came to spending my retainer, using it when necessary not simply to pad his pockets ... a trait I have discovered is not the case with every attorney. I felt very comfortable with his knowledge of the law and his ability to talk with the opposing attorney. I want to express my sincere gratitude to Terrance Mead and his paralegal, Amanda Parsons, for all they have done for me in a most professional manner. They have helped me immensely and given me hope of piecing my life back together. Thank you, Terry and Amanda!
I talked to Terry about a divorce I was going through. He seemed experienced, but seemed very zoned out like he wasn’t comprehending what I was saying. He kept getting my case confused with a will which didn’t make any sense. His assistant also seemed disorganized. I felt very uncomfortable dealing with him.
