I highly recommend services rendered by Tara J. Scott and Yami Negron that have shown high level of professionalism and expertise. My warmest thanks go to them for their time to market efforts, availability and communication
Tara and her team did an excellent job helping me with my child support case a few months ago. Tara is extremely knowledgeable, professional and compassionate and made me feel at ease throughout the whole process. I'm very grateful for Tara and her team and couldn't be more happy with the outcome and results!
My family was going through a very troubled time and on top of everything else going on I was assisting my daughter to look for a divorce attorney. Not something you really think about until you find yourself looking around wondering where I begin looking for the best qualified attorney out there. I asked a my accountant a professional working in the area for numerous years if she knew anyone that she would personally recommend and Ms. Scott was that attorney for which I couldn’t be more grateful. Ms. Scott handled the case with dignity and poise regardless of what transpired both in and out of the court room. Ms. Scott is very intelligent and knows how the judicial system works; she doesn’t take short cuts and was always working tirelessly towards our desired outcome. Everything was explained to us throughout the process yet we still inundated her with calls and emails when we felt issues were arising which she handled as quickly and efficiently as she could. She even conducted in office meetings and teleconferences to provide us with the current status of the case as well as the plan going forward. I guess using the analogy of a doctor having a multitude of patients so you can’t just walk in their office and demand to be seen, our attorney also has other clients and is not at our beck and call even if we believe our case is the most important. So while we learned to dial it down a bit, Ms. Scott did everything she could to safeguard the wellbeing of my daughter and grandson by hiring experts in their field when needed to look after my family’s interests. I was rather surprised by some of the negative comments here about Ms. Scott. Having gone through this process and witnessing other cases that coincided with ours I believe too many people are approaching this process with aspirations of instant gratification, “the lawyer on television was able to wrap up their case in an hour” so why can’t you? Why is my case taking so long? While not expecting it to wrap up in an hour or a week I was surprised at how long it transpired, had I not experienced it myself I would have had no idea that our judicial system just doesn’t work that way. There are so many necessary steps that our attorney had to take to bring our desired outcome to fruition. Heck just waiting to get back on the judge’s calendar for our next 30-60 minute appearance, then waiting for court dates so our issues to be heard. I feel we should bear in mind that just as we have our mind made up as to the preferred results upon conclusion of the case so does the opposing party so until all involved reach a happy medium the case will continue to be litigated. Another point worth mentioning is if you have everything all figured out why are you hiring a lawyer to begin with? When I hire a lawyer I am doing so because they are the subject matter experts in their field, while providing relevant details is important, telling my lawyer how to litigate the case is not going to provide me with the anticipated outcome I am looking for. Finally I would recommend approaching the process with realistic expectations and checking your emotions at the door because they tend to be the root of most the disagreements that occur. In closing I would like to thank Ms. Scott profusely for the time consuming effort you put into our case. I would also like to publicly apologize for everything you endured during this case as a result of being our attorney. May all your future cases be less emotionally charged than what you experienced with ours.
Tara thinks very strategically. She cares deeply about people. She did a great job of containing unethical opposing council while achieving the results I desired. This was a difficult case involving significant dependency court history, she nailed it.
Ms. Scott helped me tremendously with my child support issue by educating my on rights that I had regarding obtaining a passport. Even though I am paying back child support and was told that I could not obtain a passport, Ms. Scott showed me how I was indeed eligible to receive a travel passport. She was professional, courteous, and very knowledgeable. And the whole experience was very cost effective for me, as Ms. Scott also laid out various payment options available to me. I didn't feel like just another client, as I had with other attorneys, but I truly felt Ms. Scott sincerely wanted to help me resolve my issue in a timely manner.
The Law Office of Tara Scott was very professional, they helped me through a very difficult time in my life. I would highly recommend her, for her caring and thoroughness in my situation.
As an independent bankruptcy paralegal, I work with approximately a dozen law firms in the Tampa Bay Area. I always feel that Ms. Scott's clients receive compassionate yet firm, knowledgeable counsel when they are represented by The Law Offices of Tara J. Scott. In addition to her hands-on approach, she has surrounded herself with a detail oriented staff who treat their clients with a dignity and level of attention that I don't often see from firms comparable in size. As a petition preparer for pro se Debtors, I feel 100% confident in recommending Ms. Scott to individual Debtors who may require legal representation beyond the scope of the services I can offer.
Tara helped me out of a very difficult divorce. She kept me well informed and was very caring throughout the whole experience. She is a great lawyer!
I honestly do not have enough good things to say about Tara and her staff. After my divorce, my credit went downhill and eventually got so bad I had to file a chapter 7 bankruptcy. I did a quick Google search and discovered the Law Office of Tara J. Scott. Thank goodness I ended up in the hands of Tara and her staff. They were all friendly and incredibly professional during the whole process. You can tell that Tara knows her stuff and is very clear and to the point. She tells you how it is. They helped move things along quickly. Thank you so much Tara and staff!
I would advise anyone who is seeking a divorce attorney to look elsewhere. This woman single handedly ruined my financial well being. She does not advocate or fight for her clients. My husband of 15 years broke my right hand and took our business. Tara told me I should stop living in the past and get a job. Well I had a job- an amazing business that my ex took from me. I would love to forget the past but my mangled right hand is a constant reminder of what he did and took. That was her advice to me? She took $4500 and did nothing. No court appearance, no advocating, nothing but agree with my ex’s attorney that I should get all of the household bills, mutual credit card debt, and all business debt and pay for all of this with $2,000 a month. As well as take care of our two children. While my ex should get the business and all of its income???? I don’t know who in their right mind would think that’s doable or what the court ordered. It’s not- she was in over her head and instead of saying so, she took my money and my time and left me out to dry. I had maintained my credit and financial well being until she became my lawyer. EVERYTHING FELL APART AS SOON AS I MADE THE MISTAKE TO HIRE THIS INCOMPETENT ATTORNEY. It’s been a long divorce due to Covid- there are a lot of pieces to my case. I get it’s a lot- she knew what was going on and said she could handle it. She didnt. She is the epitome of lawyer jokes. Please don’t waste your time like I did. Unless it’s an extremely simple, no assets, no kids, no ABUSE case. I’m sure she would do just fine on that type of divorce. Anything besides the straight forward and u are wasting your time. I wish someone had told me this info before I wasted time and energy with this horrible attorney.
