I have worked with Tammy for a little while now and can confidently say that she is one of the best divorce/family attorneys. She is professional, compassionate, and really helped me a lot. I highly recommend Tammy.

Tammy is awesome, she is very knowledge and knows how to proceed, she is tough but sincere. You can trust that she will fight for you and defend you to the best of her ability. I have 100% confidence in her and will use her again if needed, I highly recommend her!

What a nightmare! She has very poor communication, does not prepare for hearings or trials adequately (or at all), and is seemingly unable to develop strategy based on the law. She missed several court deadlines for submissions of various required filings, her billing is a disaster and includes no clear explanation of charges or time. She is rude and combative. Everything is everyone else’s fault. She takes no responsibility for her mistakes or inadequate preparation. She blames everything on anyone else she can, including her own client. The finger pointing is ridiculous. If you do not want to deal with an egotistical incompetent attorney and would also like to avoid wasting literally years and (in my case) close to $50,000 then do not hire her. Ask her questions about her incompetence and she will insult you and leave you high and dry by ditching you and your case entirely. Bar complaint filed!

I hired Tammy to help with a highly contested child custody case. She was a bit pricey, but I'd heard she was quite good. Things started out great. Tammy seemed to have a good understanding of the issue and a solid plan. She told me it was a "slam dunk" case (she used those exact words). We get to court and....my world flipped upside down. Tammy ended up not representing me (although I paid her directly to represent me). She gave me some explanation that I still don't understand. She did NOT make me aware that she was not representing me prior to the court date, so I had to represent myself. She severely damaged my credibility. After we lost, the unprofessionalism started to shine through. She cursed at me and my mom while we cried over the outcome of the case. She told me it was my fault that we lost. After court, my mindset shifted to what comes next and continuing the fight. Tammy became more and more difficult to get ahold of. For 2 months, I attempted to contact her to go over our next plan and seek advice. She would occasionally return my calls, but less and less over time. Finally, I became frustrated and repeatedly called her office to set up a meeting. It was then, a full 2 months after the original court date, that she told me she no longer represented me and hadn't been representing me since the first court date. She claimed she told me that at court, but she definitely did not. I never received anything in writing from her disengaging herself from my case. As a result, I was left scrambling for another lawyer. 1 1/2 yrs later and I'm just now starting to realize just how bad of a position Tammy put me in. I have yet to undo the damage she caused. Just very poor professionalism, deceptive, and unreliable. Please don't take the risk, it wasn't worth it for me

We hired Tammy for custody case. Ex-wife alienated children from father for past 7 years with overwhelming documentation to prove outcome. While case was pending in St. Tammany, ex-wife continued to alienate children from father and made several false allegations that were all denied by court. When ex-wife relocated to Texas without court approval while case was pending, Tammy attempted to persuade my wife and I to give ex-wife sole custody so she would not be held in contempt for relocating children without court approval. We refused and requested Tammy to file contempt motion for ex-wife relocating children without court approval. Tammy refused. We requested for Tammy to file motion for ex-wife to pay half of travel expenses. Tammy refused. We requested for Tammy to schedule final trial date. On day trial date was to be set, Tammy refused to accept any date court offered and informed Judge an agreement was made between parties -- which was completely false. Judge ordered that a signed agreement by both parties was required and must be filed within 30 days from that said date of entry. After meeting, Tammy sent us an email (no phone call) stating the court would mail final trial date within 10 days. From this moment forward Tammy avoided my wife and I. We looked up our case details online and learned that Tammy refused all court dates offered by court in minutes posted under case details. After this discovery, we immediately fired Tammy and proceeded with another attorney. Tammy is a divorcee and mother. We believe that she harbors ill feelings toward men in general; especially fathers that are seeking custody of their children due to parental alienation. If your case is strong and favorable, she will work against you by not following guidelines, time frames and will intentionally mislead you to accommodate your ex-wife. I do not recommend Tammy. If you do hire Tammy, follow your case closely online as a process and control to insure honesty. Filed complaint with State Bar of Louisiana.
