About
I choose to become a lawyer to do Social Justice and try to make this world a better place. I grew up as with a Hippie mentality of peace, brotherhood and equality and have continually strived to make a positive contribution to mankind. Every individual is entitled to the same level of respect, kindness and empathy. I will treat all my clients and collegues just that way. I initially was in the health care field and have continued my "Do No Harm" approach to all life situations. This is crucial when practicing Family and Divorce Law, as the Family unit will have to continue long after my involvement. The Children are usually the innocents in Family Court and Divorce and must be protected. I will zealously and aggressively defend my clients, supporting their positions and educating them about the entire Court process. I will be compassionate and understanding as I assist each client through the trauma and stress of their Family Court or Divorce proceeding.

Suzanne Latimer was the best. I needed a lawyer to complete a simple will, POA and health proxy for my 81 year old mother. She was warm & friendly and put us at ease about the process. She was very patient and made sure we understood the her answers to our questions. The paperwork was completed very quickly and professionally
Suzanne was a tremendous help and great support during my attempted collaborative divorce. She worked with me for almost two years and I will not hesitate to recommend her to anyone. She is very knowledgeable, friendly, and always on your side. She will help you keep your head on straight when you want to blow a gasket in the most stressful situations. She is there for you when you want to cry and when you want to scream, helping you through every process. The failure in my collaborative divorce was due to the other party. The mediator and Suzanne were top notch and very understanding and supportive. The process and idea of a collaborative divorce is what anyone should attempt first when separating and there are children involved. Two things to do when getting a divorce, 1. hire Suzanne and 2. be an adult
On my way home to New Jersey over the Labor Day holiday, I was pulled over by a State Trooper who issued me a ticket for speeding on the Northway near Saratoga Springs, NY. I was traveling in a cell of cars in the fast lane, matching their speed, which was very closely aligned with the speed of other motorists in the adjoining lane. To me and my wife, it seemed clear that I had been singled out because I was driving a shiny new BMW with out of state plates. Nonetheless, I took it in stride. After decades of driving with a spotless record and no speeding tickets, I figured that my number had just come up. I decided that I would plead guilty, pay the fine and take the points. However, after a bit of online research the next day, I learned that the section of the Northway where I was stopped was a notorious speed trap. I also found out that motorists could fight these tickets, and that one of the best local law firms to retain was Latimer. My email to Latimer was immediately returned by phone from the principal, Suzanne Latimer, who convinced me to fight. She and her team successfully reduced my charge to a parking violation with zero points and no record - hence no insurance increase! If you get stopped for speeding in New York State, as I was, seek out Latimer. Her firm is superb.
Sue was amazing, calm, and practical. She handled many different issues in my case with calm reasoning. She's very smart and understands the law and what's practical. She cares about the children first and that's what any parent needs to consider. She really connected with me and understood that a divorce and custody battle have a very emotional and financial side. She keeps that in mind even when one may forget. Her advice is spot on. I've recommended her several times and will do it again.
I welcome this opportunity to recommend Suzanne Latimer to anyone who needs a lawyer for a child custody/visitation case. As soon as Suzanne took on my case, I began to feel optimistic that soon I would finally have the chance to be able to establish a normal father/child relationship with my two daughters despite their mothers many lies and efforts to prevent this from happening. In court, I had always been very nervous, frustrated and even scared, but Suzanne, thankfully, made my court experience a great deal less tramatic. Before each of our ten days of trial, she always showed at least an hour early and absolutely fully prepared. Suzanne's presence helped to calm and reassure me that things were going well, that they would continue to go well and that if I kept my cool I would soon be seeing my children on a regular basis and, much to my surprise and delight, that if I had a house available to properly accommodate my two daughters, I might even be able to get full legal and physical custody of them. In court, Suzanne was a true champion of my cause. She was calm, collected, articulate, and very sharp and rapid in her cross examination of the prosecution. Thanks to her structured questioning, she was able to make it evident to the court that the prosecution was lying. In the end, this is what won the day. Five stars and more is what Suzanne deserves for all her work and dedication. I am forever grateful to her and on behave of my two daughters, I thank her once again. Respectfully Yours David J Stokle
From the first consult I knew that the referal to Suzanne Latimer was right on target. She supported me through prep for court, she guided me through our first court hearing and listened and restructured the plan when I needed to change direction completely. Suzanne was professional and knowledgeable but more than that she saw the humanity in my decisions. Suzanne was a key player in healing our family when she could have pushed for a win. I recommend Suzanne whenever anyone asks me about a lawyer!
I hired her years ago for a divorce case. The most amount of work that she did was to convince me to hire her. She double charged me for files that I picked up and she mailed to me. Was not prepared for the court proceedings.
Regretfully have to say attempting to work with this firm was a mistake. Lesson learned. I saw a lot of positive reviews, which was why I considered working with this firm in the first place. Unfortunately that was not the case for me.
I was falsely accused in a medical case. Ms. Latimer came highly recommended by a friend. After accepting thousands of dollars in fees and retainers, she dropped my case because unbeknownst to me she was negotiating a deal to join a firm involved in another aspect of the case. What a Benedict Arnold! How untrue to her stated values.
