About
Over the course of 25 years, Suzanne assisted generations of families with estate planning. Her estate planning practice includes everything from drafting wills and trusts to the probate of estates, the administration of trusts as well as assisting families who have children or adults with special needs to establish specific trusts, conservatorships and guardianships. Suzanne has the litigation experience to be an effective advocate in the courtroom if a dispute arises in a probate or trust proceeding. In addition to her estate planning and probate work, Suzanne's experience includes representing injured parties and insurers on insurance coverage issues and related litigation. She has also appeared before and drafted numerous briefs to the Minnesota Court of Appeals and the Minnesota Supreme Court. As a testament to her skills, for over 15 years her peers have presented her with the highest rating possible for her ethics and legal abilities, an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell.Suzanne complements her traditional practice in many ways. She has dedicated hundreds of hours of service as a volunteer attorney with the Children’s Law Center of Minnesota, representing children who are in foster care or wards of the state. She lectures at various client seminars and for continuing legal education programs in her practice areas. As a member of the panel of arbitrators with the American Arbitration Association, Suzanne is routinely selected by parties to act as their arbitrator.

Suzanne worked with my husband and I to update our estate planning documents. She was friendly, thorough and detailed. No one enjoys creating these documents but Suzanne made the experience easy and I feel confident are family is all set when the time comes to execute these legal documents.
When my mother passed in Dec 2018, I was forced to find an estate attorney for the first time in my life to help my brother and I through probate court. I went to a local Facebook neighbors’ group to ask for recommendations. One reply stood out for Suzanne Kvas in Eagan at Lutter, Gilbert & Kvas. It was from an employee of Suzanne’s, but it was clear that this recommendation was not self-serving but said great personal things about Suzanne. I looked Suzanne up on the web, and just judging a book by the cover, she looked like a nice, genuine person I could trust. So, I contacted Suzanne, and had an initial consolation, which was great and relieved a multitude of fears I had about the probate and court process. The unsupervised probate was going to be much easier, much less scary, and not need any in court appearances. Not only was Suzanne personable and easy to talk to, but I felt very confident she knew what she was talking about, and that this would be pretty easy process relatively speaking. She kept me updating about all processes at the county court, and sent me documents to review and sign, asking if I had any questions. With only needing to meet in person once, we wrapped up my mom's probate process in about 4 months, mainly over email with PDF attachments, signatures, and scanning them back into PDFs. Suzanne's costs were close to what she predicted in the beginning, and generally reasonable compared to lawyer fee's in general. She is a true expert in handing estate, so I trust her. This process also made me feel comfortable enough that I decided this was also my path forward to finally setting up my own estate documents. Suzanne helped me draft a will, and power of attorney, a health care directive, and a transfer title of death for my house. This process was made very easy and was completed in just one in-person meeting. I am now confident that my estate in finally in order at the age of 43 and I can rest easier knowing things will be much easier for my relatives and to my wishes, in case anything happens. That peace of mind is priceless. Feel confident to call upon Suzanne to help you with any estate lawyer needs.
