About
There are lots of ElderLaw and Estate Planning lawyers out there and all of us have many things incommon, whether we are a large firm or a small firm like mine. Some of our commonalities are: lawdegrees; experience; websites and publications; all sorts of marketing; andcharging fees for services. So what distinguishes Lannik Law from theothers? Many of you know thatI dealt with my own parents’ estate planning, elder law and emotional issuesfor years. If that weren’texperience enough!! But that maynot be what makes my practice unique. We all have parents; many of us have difficult families. It is the personal touch that I want togive, and want everyone on my staff to give, because of my extensive experienceand interest in the arts that began from the age of 8 and continues to date. Itis my background in theater, and an advanced art history degree, that hasshaped this practice more than anything else. After all, great artists are perfect, right? A great work of art or a wonderful playor ballet is a challenge. It makesone see something new every time, and there is a constant learning processabout both the art and yourself. The same holds true in the law. The challenge is constant change, and the beauty is a never-ending needto learn more to achieve excellent service for clients, and to draft the verybest, most up-to-date documents we can. But it is more thanthat. I view my clients “theatrically.” No one else does this. Actors, dancers, and musicians are all part of a large family. There is the older generation who holdsthe tradition and becomes a “knowledge repository” for the middle generation. The latter is working in the field and breaking new ground. They are actually on the stage. Both groups teach and pass on thetradition to the youngest generation, the student, who is “learning thetrade.” My function is tohold the tradition—e.g., know and understand the present and past history ofthe law; work with clients of all ages; and adapt what I know to theirparticular needs. At Lannik Law we serve people from age 20 to 90 andbeyond. The fact that my clientsand I establish a relationship beyond the documents that are drafted on theirbehalf makes me different from other lawyers. Many become and remain my extended family. As they move through their lives, Ihave had the exciting experience of helping them grow from student, toperformer, to knowledge repository. I attribute all of this to the background Ihave in the arts.

I had Susana prepare my estate plan recently. I had put it off for so long, and just decided I had to get it done. I was very satisfied with each aspect of the process, from my first call with Jen all the way to the signing with Susana. They made this process easy, pain free, and I really felt like they cared. Thank you girls for all your help!
