I contacted Sue through the recommendations had read online. We set up a time for me to talk t her about the issues I was experiencing at work that were of great concern to me. That first call reassured me that Sue was exactly the right attorney to guide me through the issues I was concerned and worried about, Over a period of about a year, I was able to call her and discuss various issues and she was great at talking me off "the ledge" . She provided pragmatic advice that allowed me to view my work issues in a way that empowered me. On top of all of this, Sue has a great sense of humor that helped to diffuse my anxiety. I would recommend Sue without any reservations.
Sue Huhta did an outstanding job, from start to finish. She worked tirelessly on my case, and demonstrated extraordinary knowledge of the arcane details of labor law as it relates to university promotion and tenure cases. She was such an upbeat, pleasant person to deal with, and so honest and realistic. I felt like she was really in my corner!
I was having problems at work. Specifically, I was trying to manage challenging staff without support from my boss. I asked a colleague, who had experienced a similar situation, what to do. The colleague told me I needed someone on my side and to contact an attorney that specialized in employment law. Based on Ms. Huhta's credentials, I selected her as my attorney. What a wise choice, I have near regretted my decision. Ms. Huhta is not only experienced, but compassionate. She says what she means and does what she says. Ms. Huhta is confident, yet not arrogant. She is straight-forward and direct, yet tactful. When we met, Ms. Huhta asked me questions about the situation to clarify the facts. She analyzed the situation quickly and provided various options including potential consequences. Her wise counsel calmed me in the midst of a storm, and strengthened me. My situation ended with a favorable outcome thanks to Ms. Huhta's advice. If you are in a similar situation, I recommend highly Ms. Huhta for her expertise in employment law. You could not select anyone better.
From initial consultation to settlement Sue Huhta was direct, fair and a realist. Most importantly she effectively and objectively counseled me on my employment matter, what my legal options were and clearly stated her approach to achieve the desired results. Once all the facts were on the table about my employment situation, lack of promotion and subsequent actions by management she aptly noted the violations to laws and sought remedy. Most importantly Sue was actively in involved beginning to end. There was no hand off. She and her partner were equally knowledgeable and participatory. The outcome was satisfactory and timely. Because of my position in the organization I was aware of potential approaches by my former employer. She kindly and directly informed me "that is nice to know but here is the legal issue. And do I want to address it." What I admired the most Sue took the time to thoroughly understand my issue before committing to represent me. I believe that is one of the reasons she is so successful as an advocate for senior executives seeking remedy in employment and compensation matters.
When I was treated very badly by the law firm I was working at, I contacted Sue as a result of her stellar online reviews and was not disappointed. Sue was very kind and sympathetic during our initial hour long telephone conversation. It was also clear from that conversation that Sue brings a wealth of experience to the table and I knew immediately that having Sue by my side would increase the chances of reaching a satisfactory settlement with my employer. I had thought that the case would be resolved fairly quickly, but as it turned out, my employer decided to play hardball. Given that turn of events, I can't think of anyone I would rather have had fighting them on my behalf. After each communication from the other side, Sue thinks strategically about what our next move should be. Sue also thinks creatively - we had some fairly complex issues to navigate that would have intimidated a lesser lawyer; Sue took them in her stride. Once she has decided on her recommended approach, Sue is extremely adept at explaining it. And she doesn't just tell you what you want to hear. She makes sure that she gives her best advice, which I greatly appreciated. Sue has a confident but warm manner and I had total faith in her judgment. That faith paid off when she negotiated a settlement that was far in excess of what I was expecting, particularly given that the firm in question had decided to dig their heels in. Overall, Sue is in absolute pleasure to work with. She is easy to build a rapport with and is clearly at the top of her game professionally. I would add that, as a lawyer myself, I learnt a lot about how to handle clients just by observing the way in which Sue interacted with me. If I ever have an issue again with an employer, Sue would be the first person I would call, and my recommendation to anyone out there who is in the same boat is that you should do so too.
Susan Huhta is an amazing person and attorney! As my attorney, she provided emotional support, stayed in constant contact with me to keep me informed of everything that was going on and became a good friend. She was accessible anytime or day to address problems that I was experiencing on the job during this legal process. My experience during this long and stressful process was less painful due to the professionalism and bedside manner of Ms. Huhta. She took the fear away from seeking legal counsel when you think you are being discriminated against. I am now a strong advocate of seeking legal advice when unfairness occurs in the workplace because of my experience with Ms. Huhta. Ms. Huhta and her associates provided legal guidance that resulted in a fair settlement.
I hired Susan Huhta in 2015 to help me with a discrimination/retaliation employment case. She and her partner Rick Salzman were phenomenal. Susan was so professional with everything she touched. She helped to steer my decisions about my case in ways that were very beneficial to me even when I was not clear on exactly what path to take. She is so kind, respectful, direct, and has a great sense of humor, not to mention a brilliant mind. She and her partner were able to take a very difficult discrimination employment case and untangle the web. After all of the hard work, prevailing was the only option left on the table. If someone wants to hire the best attorney to get the best results, Susan Huhta should be at the top of your list!
Yes, you need her! When faced with an incredibly unjust workplace situation, it took me a while before I finally acknowledged that I truly needed to seek professional assistance. And even then, I wasn’t 100% sure I wanted to move forward; somehow I was still trying to digest how I got here, wondering what I’d have to invest of my personal time, energy,$ to address/correct these serious issues since my company chose to take no action. Particularly for an ingoing (anxious) novice like me, Sue Huhta was an incredible partner. She helped me to separate emotion from fact and reassured me that justice needed to be pursued. Most importantly, she helped infuse patience and a strategic outlook to the situation vs looking for just the fastest fix (or giving-up entirely)! I really appreciated her authenticity in how we connected - she is empathetic, candid, extremely experienced and kept me optimistic through several times when I really did just want to give-in and move-on with my life. I am SO grateful that she was my partner. I know we did the right thing for the company, its other employees and certainly for my personal situation. So if you are still in the phase of disbelief that you are even having to read these reviews to potentially hire a lawyer....I know how you feel. I would encourage you to just call Sue and start a conversation. I’m sure she’ll give you a feel pretty quickly for whether she’s the best partner for your situation, or not.
Susan Huhta provided exceptional legal support and guidance in my employment and discrimination action. She provided strategy and legal guidance that was right on target at all times. She is an exceptional attorney and I would recommend her to anyone.
I met Susan when I was at a truly low point after a poor employment experience. I hired Susan to represent me in an unfair employment termination case. She was compassionate and nonjudgemental but absolutely relentless in obtaining a fair and equitable resolution to my case. She exuded confidence in what she would be able to accomplish, was forthright and honest on the potential outcome scenarios. Thanks to her time and talent, I had a positive outcome. While I hope I never have to use her services again if I did she would be my first phone call.
