About
I have practiced adoption law for 45 years with a concentration in adoption and child welfare law for the last 35 years. I have represented birthparents and prospective adoptive parents in over 2,500 adoptions, including adoptions from 40 states and 17 foreign countries. I am an adoptive parent. I also gave birth to a child after utilizing assisted reproduction technology. My extended family includes children who have joined our family through stepparent adoption, foreign adoption, transracial adoption, embryo adoption and assisted reproduction technology. I enjoy speaking on adoption related topics to professional, community and triad groups. I look forward to meeting with you and learning your adoption story and working with you in your family building endeavors. Hope to speak to you soon.

My wife and I were referred to Mrs. Eisenman by our original attorney with the admonition that she was the "expert" attorney that we needed and with the description that she was a "fighter" for her clients. After a 9+ month battle that went all the way to the Ohio Supreme Court, I absolutely can say that Mrs. Eisenman is just that - an expert at her speciality in adoption law and an attorney that will fight for her clients! At every turn in our case, Mrs. Eisenman kept us informed of current happenings in our case and her plan going forward. She never would proceed without discussing options with us first, and obtaining our consent for her proposed course of action. Mrs. Eisenman displayed her great legal mind, as she would many times discuss her perception of where things may go "next", many times giving us insight on what to expect in the coming weeks and months. I can not say enough about my respect for Mrs. Eisenman and the legal advice and representation that she provided for our family. Through a long, drawn out battle that spanned from juvenile court, to probate court, to the appeals court, to the Ohio Supreme Court, Mrs. Eisenman displayed the integrity, perseverance, skill, initiative, and legal knowledge required to ultimately obtain a successful outcome for our family and our daughter that, in the end, was successfully adopted. Mrs. Eisenman was honest with us from beginning to the end of our case. At our first meeting, she told my wife and I that she doesn't guarantee outcomes of cases - any attorney that does is promising something they may not have control of - but what she does guarantee is that she will give sound legal advice and direction, representing her clients expertly, to the best of her ability. This is exactly what Mrs. Eisenman did for my wife and I.....she delivered on her promise, and I would give her the highest recommendation!
Mrs Eisernman was recommended by another juvenile attorney representing my family in juvenile court. She was referred to as "The best expert in adoption procedings". This coming from other attorneys, including my own, was worth the inquiry. Meeting with her I found her to be thorough, caring truthful and willing to put her best foot forward. Always letting us know what was going on, keeping us informed at every angle and never selling us false hopes. Other attorneys will sometimes take a case because of your ability to become an income source for their own necessities. Never giving you the whole picture or asking you to compromise yourself to achieve a common goal. I have found her fees to be more than fair. Considering the insurmountable time and effort she puts into my case, other attorneys charge inflated prices and believe me we have checked. We have had a great experience working with her and will highly recommended her services to anyone looking for an attorney with morals, standards and loyalties
I have hired Susan to represent me both in adoption and in a juvenile matter! She has done a great job so far for me! I tell her what I expect and want and she works to get that for me. She has already did a wonderful job for me already on one case. Any time that I call her she is prompt to call me back. If there is something I am not quit sure of, she explain it to me! She suggest what to do, but wants my ok before she continues with it. If there is something she does that I don't like I tell her! She rather have me say what I feel about my case, this way she can do her job on finding a way to solve the matter. She is a very sweet lady! Yes I would recommend her as a attorney ! I Have recommend her to friends and family both!
We did not win the case, but that's not reason for the poor rating I am giving. We paid her in full over 7 years ago. Now she agreed she was paid in full. Well 7 yrs later when we cant find the proof she was paid in full she took us to court for 23000 dollars so here we are stuck p as ying this attorney again I will not recommend her to anyone you hire her at own risk very very poor record keeping
I was referred to Susan Eisenman to represent me while I began the process of becoming a gestational carrier. She was extremely slow to respond and spent a lot of time "out of town". She was not very helpful with key components of our contract. We felt that she billed us for more time than she actually spent with us and became irate when we questioned the charges. After sending an email that I found to be very unprofessional and unnecessary, the intended parents and I decided to terminate our relationship with her. Things moved so much faster without her. Total waste of our time and money.
