Attorney Cutelis is the most skilled and effective lawyer I ever encountered. I won my case thanks to her advocacy and will be forever grateful for her hard work. She was easy to talk to and really cared about getting me the best result possible.
Attorney Cutelis was a straight shooter from the first meeting I had with her. She respects your time and understands that every minute spent is an expense to you. She handled my case brilliantly and this is after my first Attorney whom I fired literally gave up and said " men rarely get custody just deal with it, that's the system ", well , Attorney Cutelis took over the case halfway, re-engaged the other side and she was relentless. At one point, she very respectfully requested the judge to speed up the case because we kept going to court over and over and the judge agreed and directed that the two parties have a conference to conclude the case the next time round! That move saved me a lot of money and she didn't have to because every court visit is income for her. Attorney Cutelis also has a vast network in the system as she has practiced for 28+ years. What I realized is that attorney's come through your life briefly at the most difficult moments, therefore it is imperative that you pick the best attorney that your resources can afford because the consequences will last a very long time. She is really like a good investment and she will have favorable results for you. Attorney Cutelis does what a lawyer is supposed to do, she represents you to the very conclusion of your case. I have appreciated that and I am very thankful for that not only for myself but also for my son. I have recommended her since to friends and family that need a family lawyer.
I have been battling a custody case off and on for 5 years. I worked with two lawyers prior to working with Susan who I found incompitant, they did not feel that what I needed/wanted was important, they overcharged me, and were not committed to my case. It was a blessing when I found Susan. I have worked with Susan for 11 months in regards to a custody case. During this time Susan made me feel confident about my case, she kept me informed, had proven that she knows the law -she's extremely intelligant, she has taken the time to explain the case to me and gave me options. Susan faught hard for me and what I wanted and was also very fair. I feel as though she did her best to save me any money possible. During the 11 months I felt as though she truly cared about me and my son. I will use Susan again in the future if needed and would recommend her to anyone looking for an attorney to represent them. I wish I were able to better express my feelings for the work that Susan has done for me however, I don't feel as though there are words to describe her dedication. She is an amazing person and a fantastic lawyer. Susan was able to finish my case and with all that I wanted and needed on my side.
Susan was used for a custody case with DCF. She was by far the WORST attorney that could have been assigned to the case. She reached out to us and offered her help and seemed genuine. Months went by without a follow up or response to many emails or calls. Once custody was returned to the parents (Drug addicts and gang members) that's when she wanted to return calls. She was supposed to do many follow up visits and phone calls before court dates and we never got that. She is also rude and takes no ownership of her horrible attorney skills.
DON’T HIRE HER unless you want to experience ANXIETY! She is BY FAR the worst attorney I have ever encountered. She doesn’t return phone calls or answer e-mails. She just doesn’t call you! And, when you call her after WEEKS of waiting and needless anxiety, you’ll hear this, “I was just going to call you”! She doesn’t file court documents in time, opposing attorneys can’t get in touch with her. My husband and I reached an Agreement that she sat on for TWO MONTHS! Surprise- now my husband won’t honor the Agreement and we will go to trial. I FIRED this attorney because she didn’t do her job and represent MY best interest.
I used Susan for my divorce years back and completely agree with the person who posted the review entitled "Very Powerful Legally, However, LACKED the ability to work with others, including myself". Though she was indisputably knowledgeable, she was not personable, came across as brash, unprofessional and made some decisions I did not feel were necessarily in my best interest. Her lack of response and sense of urgency was woeful. She at times came across as lazy. I also didn't appreciate her tone with me on several occasions. Looking back, I wish I had taken the time to switch attorney's, but I knew it would delay things considerably and time was not on my side. The entire process was frustrating to say the least. She also nickle and dimed me to the point of feeling violated. She was charging me for returned phone calls when she didn't even get me on the phone and would leave a voice mail. She also charged for emails. I do understand this is how attorney's make their money, but given the amount of money I had already spent on this divorce, to be charged $25 for a 3 second voice mail message is a bit much. One thing that left a seriously bad taste in my mouth was her lack of follow up on document requests to my ex-spouse's attorney. She requested items that were never produced. I was able to uncover some financial information on my own (with no help from her) and she never inquired to the other attorney as to WHY these documents were never produced, because they quite clearly existed. Money was being concealed and she never did a thing to compel production. Due to her lack of follow through, I could have missed out on a considerable amount of money. The times I had meetings at her office she was always at least 30 minutes late, very unprofessional. I could go on and on. I would just urge you to keep looking, you can definitely find better.
I must be honest, I Ms Cutelis, initially, seemed to be someone who was going to approach my legal issues with respect, honestly, morality and with professional ethics. I will say on her behalf, she certainly did work VERY hard for me, however, I began to feel that she was doing so at a cost to my former spouse that was quite malicious, that even as her client, was uncomfortable. I explained in great detail the issues, and, I would never admit this to my former spouse, but I began to sympathize with them. She was relentless, I thought, "well, she is doing her job," which I suppose in a way she was, I simply cannot get past the pain the misery she seemed to place on my ex, I began to even question her ethics. If you are seeking an attorney, with a reputation to be a bully (and I am sorry, but this was the overwhelming response she received from court personnel, fellow attorneys, and former clients I later spoke to. Although I am happy with the end result, I do feel (looking back at the ordeal,) she was spiteful toward my ex, without even having ever spoken? I won, however, I would not recommend her services or her representation.
