About
My experience as an international student in the United States truly opened my eyes to the incredible opportunities and increased quality of life this country offers for those willing to work hard to pursue their dreams and those of their family. I was fortunate enough to become teammates and friends with many other international students from around the world. It was hearing stories of their experiences growing up in developing countries - in some cases amidst civil war and severe poverty - that inspired me to assist my fellow immigrants, as well as small business owners seeking to hire qualified workers, in navigating the complex and often intimidating processes that must be overcome in order to obtain legal status in the United States. I treat all immigration matters as if they were my own, as I know from personal experience the strong personal and emotional connection associated with the immigration process. The practice of immigration law is a true passion for me. It is a privilege to come to work each day in order to help my fellow immigrants pursue the “American Dream.” I look forward to the opportunity of helping you and your family make this dream a reality, just like I myself have been fortunate enough to do.

Stuart was great from day one helping us through the visa process. Was always on hand to answer calls and emails in a timely manner. His time lines for the visa process were very accurate. He came to the interview with my wife and I and helped us through the nervy process. Great Lawyer and great person. Highly recommend.
Stuart is very good at what he does and very knowledgeable. Everything he did was done in a timely manner and was on top of everything. Gave me very in depth instructions of what I needed to do and bring in to the office. Does not set unrealistic expectations. Would definately recommend for any type of Immigration legal matter.
For those who want to know, I was inspected at JFK Airport in New York City 20 years ago. When I finally decided to apply for my green card, I knew I needed the help of a lawyer because immigration laws and paper filings can be a daunting and stressful experience for most of us. I initially consulted with a couple of lawyers who had been practising for over 15 years, but they were hesitant and reluctant about taking my case. Desperate, I went to ailawyer.org and picked Mr. Gilgannon out of a huge list solely based on satisfactory Avvo Reviews that quite a few people were willing to write. During our free consultation, Mr. Gilgannon was understanding, straightforward, willing and ready to handle my case above all. With good organization skills, he laid out clear steps to help us confidently navigate through the nerve-racking immigration maze. Thank you again, Mr. Gilgannon for doing such a wonderful job!! For anybody out there looking for a reliable, honest, hard-working and trustworthy lawyer, do yourself a favor and hire Mr. Stuart Gilgannon. You will not regret it!
I retained Mr. Gilgannon's services for immigration in EB-2 National Interest Waiver category. For readers who may not be very familiar with immigration law, this is one of the more difficult employment-based categories to apply in, and it requires an extensive amount of paperwork. Mr. Gilgannon made the whole process very easy for me to understand and gave me the confidence boosts when needed while going through it. I always followed his advice and the result speaks for itself louder than any words - now I enjoy the freedom of a permanent resident status. Mr. Gilgannon made a highly favorable impression on me during our initial consultation (which was free, but nevertheless lasted for 1.5 hours), both professionally and as a person. It was very important to me to find an immigration attorney who was honest and who would actually care about my case, not look at it as just another one in a pipeline. I have never had a reason to regret my decision to hire him. As an example, he would always return my phone calls within a day and promptly respond to all of my e-mails (sometimes even on weekends!). He was straightforward about the possible weak points in my case and warned me about the risks of denied petition before I hired him. In my opinion, his fee is very reasonable for the quality of legal service that he provides. I will not hesitate to recommend him to any of my friends for legal advice in immigration. I sincerely wish him much success in current and future cases and to all prospective immigrants - good luck your petitions.
I can't thank Stuart enough for all he has done. Going into my application for my H1B visa, I was nervous. I had heard lots of horror stories about percentages, and how it was just luck if your application was approved. Stuart's contacts details were given to me through a friend of a friend and he immediately made me feel comfortable. While he didn't sugar coat the process (which for anyone is a time of anxiety), he let me know the facts and what we needed to do in order to get our desired outcome. His past experiences with people in the same profession as myself also eased my concerns. I am also extremely happy with how smooth our whole process was, even though Stuart is in Wisconsin and I am in Louisiana. At the end of the day, my application was approved and I can't thank Stuart enough for being part of it!
My wife (American citizen) and I (German citizen) contacted Attorney Stuart Gilgannon when I decided to immigrate to America from Germany. We could not be happier with the work he's done and help he's given to us. In fact, we are sure we could not have gotten through the immigration process without his guidance. From the first, we knew we were in good hands with Stuart. He clearly has a strong grasp on Immigration law which made us feel secure in the process. He gave sound and realistic advice to us every step of the way. But he also has something special: an innate compassion for the fears and confusion the process brings to those going through it. He was always patient with our questions and worries, and we always felt understood by him, all of which means so much! My wife and I are now in America and I have my Green Card. We couldn't be happier. Stuart gets our sincerest thanks for helping make our dream a reality. We would not hesitate to recommend Stuart to anyone going through the immigration process. He's a great attorney and a very nice person.
With a sure hand Mr. Gilgannon guided my same-sex partner and me through the "mine field" of immigration law. I suppose most other immigration lawyers could have done the same, but it's Mr. Gilgannon's attitude that impresses: professional but friendly, outgoing, and always there when it a questions arises or when reassurance is needed. We owe the resolution of our situation to him.
I did my due diligence in selecting the attorney for my difficult immigration case and landed on Stuart without hesitation. I consulted with a few different lawyers who did not give me a lot of hope and they were more interested in ending the call with me, and moving on to easier cases, than helping me. Stuart spent over an hour with me during my initial consultation laying out my immigration case, contingency plans, and best/worst case scenarios. He was very upfront that I would have a really long, difficult, road ahead of me, but that he was willing to see it through and would do everything possible for me. Stuart was very responsive throughout the whole process and I cannot speak more highly of him. After a few months of sleepless nights, and nail biting, I got approved and received my green card in the mail shortly thereafter! You will not be disappointed going with Stuart for any of your immigration needs!
When we decided to hire an attorney, we had no idea whom to choose. We contacted with several attorneys we found online, and Stuart was one of them. He seems to understand well our situation and willing to help us. And we are so glad that It turns out hiring him as our attorney was a very wise decision we made. He is young but experienced, and very reliable. Not only legal knowledge and experiences, but also his one of the strongest points is that he actually emotionally emphasizes with his clients. He knows how important this is for us, and what it is like to be in this kind of situation. He respects his clients. Because we are in Chicago, and his main office is in Milwaukee, we were worried a little bit about accessibility in the beginning. However, there was no problem scheduling a meeting because he came to the office in Chicago, and he responded his email very fast. On the interview day, he really calmed us down and gave very specific tips and advice. I can't tell how much this helped us. Today we just got an approval notice and really want to say thanks to Stuart. Without him, it would have been much more complicated. I am not sure if it was even possible without him. So If you are considering hiring him, just go for it. He is a good attorney and a good human being.
Attorney Stuart Gilgannon is not your typical big office, big money, dealing with paralegals most of the time kind of attorney. He is personal, he tells you the truth, he tells you how it is, he does the work for you and make sure the job gets done. We had a tough case for adjustment of status. Stuart was truthful from the get go, we almost became friends during the process because he was such a personable attorney that understood your individual situation and catered to our case in a very professional manner. He guaranteed that he will get the job done which he did beyond our expectations. We are extremely happy that we picked Stuart as our lawyer and we recommend Stuart to anyone who is looking for a great immigration attorney.
