About

When it comes to what I can offer my clients, it boils down to three things: integrity, experience, and results.  I help companies and people solve problems.  I tailor my work to the specific needs and budget of my clients.   I have been practicing law for 25 years.  I have handled a great variety of cases including, but not limtied to: breach of contract, misappropriation of trade secrets, noncompetition provisions, real property disputes, partnership disputes, corporate dissolutions, property damage, and taxation issues. I focus on clients who are active in Southwest Washington throughout Clark, Skamania, and Cowlitz counties, and beyond. I have successfully tried many cases in state and federal courts, and I have handled dozens of arbitrations and mediations. I also has extensive experience at the appellate level.

My wife and I hired Steven for action regarding inaccurate and misinformation we received from an accounting firm. As a result of Steven's work we were able recover most of the money we had lost. Steven was always available to answer questions, we communicated during off hours and through text often. He was clear and upfront regarding the advice he provided. Even during Covid isolation, the case moved forward. Highly recommend Steven.

I hired Mr Turner for a dispute with the developer/HOA where I was building a house. I interviewed and talked to 3 others before him, but he was the only one that seemed to know how to approach the case and understood my concerns and preferred way of dealing with the situation. He did research and found similar cases to mine that had won their disputes, and created a document reviewing everything and the legal research, and sent it to the lawyer of the other party, who agreed to our reasonable demands. Mr Turner saved me time and money, and I would hire him again and recommend him anytime.

Steve obtained the facts, was honest with what he could do and how he felt the outcome would play out. I am happy to share, the outcome was what he had planned. I attribute this to how thorough Steve was in preparing for our negotiation. I would strongly recommend him.

I owe my most sincere gratitude to Mr. Turner for representing me on an issue charged by the State's Dental Commission, that should have never been charged. The State has given the power for the Commission to the be judge, jury and executioner. Mr. Turner is a professional who I highly recommend for anyone who finds themselves up against this daunting force. He's a man of integrity that knows how to navigate the law and delicately deal with a Commission that counts on the vast resources of the government, able to force a potentially very expensive legal battle, just because they can. Washington State Dental Quality Assurance Commission (DQAC) conducted an investigation, citing unprofessional conduct against my dental license, which I've maintained in good standing for 23 years without a single mark. They requested I settle the matter informally with a Stipulation to Informal Disposition (STID) to avoid a hearing, giving a small amount of time to accept their STID before moving on charges. I retained Mr. Turned to assist with the matter who found the punishment was highly unusual, given no data was available showing the State has reprimanded a single licensed professional for the issue I was being accused. Statistically, the complaint used as the basis for their investigation is one of the five most commonly cited complaints made against a licensed professionals nationally and of the 500 complaints filed annually in the State of WA, it is among the 470 complaints that are dropped, with only 30 complaints warranting review and only 5 that are elevated to charges for serious crimes. Agreeing to the STID will forever damage my reputation in a category that is reserved for serious crimes of incompetence, negligence, convictions, gross misdemeanor, felony, fraud, willful betrayal and misuse of drugs. Mr. Turner conducted an extensive legal research and communicated with the State's staff attorney, demonstrating the Stipulation does not fall into any of the categories of reportable action. The State held firm, stating the issue was not up for negotiation, so Mr. Turner recommended we let them know we are prepared to proceed to court. The State responded with a letter, dropping all charges, electing to issue a Notice of Correction instead.

I cant recommend Steve enough. I use attorney in my business, personal life and for family. All encounters are never good ending regardless of the outcome. This is the first time I've come out on top. Steve wasn't only ethical, he found issues with my past Attorney and was able to recoup funds there for me too. He is honest, ethical, highly competent, and fair. I wish he practiced more areas so I could use him for all matters indefinitely.

We were in litigation which seemed to be at a stalemate in a civil suite. When we came to Steve, he reviewed the file quickly and understood the terms of the suit. Steve gave us several options to resolution. He was professional, knowledgeable and very responsive when communicating. We would highly recommend Steve Turner.

I asked Steven to provide advise to respond to a demand letter from an attorney representing a party that believed they properly completed a real estate agreement to purchase my house. The agreement specifically stated that failure to complete a certain section of the agreement (buyer's agent did not complete this specific section) would result in no legally binding agreement, which the buyer and their agent disputed. Steven provided a very professional and factual presentation of basic contract law to support facts that the agreement was not legally binding in a letter to the buyers attorney, and that ended the matter.

I hired Mr. Turner to represent me at a civil trial on short notice, and his performance and immediate grasp of the case was outstanding. He also represented me at the State Appellate and Supreme Court level with positive results. Mr. Turner is an excellent trial attorney. He has an in-depth understanding of business law. He is extremely intelligent, well spoken, well written, quick on his feet, trustworthy and thorough.

Steve is an excellent lawyer and also a good man. Having dealt with him for nearly 3 years on my case, he has listened to me, has taken the time to understand the issues and given me true feedback even if it is not what I wanted to hear. During the trial Steve was able to take a complicated case involving engineering, defamation and discrimination and turn it into a story that could be told to the jury. His hard work, sincerity and confidence in the courtroom won the case for me.
