I used this attorney based on a recommendation from an attorney friend of mine who had a positive experience with him on a case not related to a divorce. I should have switched attorneys long before I did but I had moved out of state, was emotionally drained and confused because of the recommendation. The first major red flag was that he told me he had submitted the paperwork for discovery and that the documents should arrive shortly. It turned out that he was actually lying and had not begun the process at all. He was very defensive, evening blaming me; he finally said that he had asked his partner to subpeona the documents and he had failed to do so. Later I completed an Interrogatory and overnighted it so that it would reach the opposing attorney in time. I found out later that he never gave it to the attorney. He was a no show at a court hearing and emailed me that the case was continued because of outstanding documents (I found this out later through my new attorney). I could go on and on but the straw that broke the camel's back was when he made a settlement offer at court without my knowledge or any discussion with me whatsoever.
