About
I have an active law practice in Manhattan, taking on cases in the NYC area and Long Island. My solo practice focuses on Elder Law, Trusts and Estates, Guardianship, Special Needs Trusts, Estate Planning and Estate Administration. This includes preparation of trusts, wills, work on Advance Directives such as Powers of Attorney and Health Care Proxies, Medicaid planning, Medicaid Home Care, Institutional Medicaid and Medicare. I attend a monthly Elder Law study group with numerous colleagues, where we provide assistance to each other on issues which come up in our practice. I have volunteered my services at Selfhelp Community Service Inc's Evelyn Frank Legal Research Program (recently moved over to NYLAG), working directly with Valerie Bogart and David Silva. I am also a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), the NYS Bar Association Elder Law Section and the Trusts and Estates Section, Eldercare Matters, and The Orion Resource Group.

Listened. Gave excellent advise. Explained everything. Answered all questions. Sincere, dedicated--counselor.
So grateful to have this experience with Steve. My family's situation has been so stressful but Steve was calm and informative and kept us all focused. He never spoke down to my father or me, and we always felt we were in good hands. A very good experience (such as these things can be) overall.
Steve was very smart, completely up to date, fully aware of our needs and interests, empathetic, fast (we needed documents quickly), engaging and available.
My husband and I were referred to Steve Fleischer and we were extremely satisfied with his work. We found him to be competent, thorough and efficient - not to mention very fairly priced for the quality of service he provided. We would recommend him without hesitation.
As I faced the daunting task of caring for my terminally ill mother, the plethora of legal issues and government bureaucracy which confronted me was enough to make me throw my hands up in despair. I don't know how anyone manages to deal with all of these opaque and confusing tasks on their own! Thanks to Steve, I was able to make the best arrangements for my mother's finances and healthcare needs without losing my mind (or my shirt). He was patient and informative, and knew the best resources to utilize for our situation. Now, my mother has full-time care that won't bankrupt her, and I have peace of mind. I would wholeheartedly endorse Steven Fleischer for any eldercare legal needs you may have.
Steve was very helpful to me. He is smart, patient with a good sense of humor. I am grateful to him for educating me about my issues. He presented the facts and never pressured me. I feel I made good decisions because of him. I would recommend him without hesitation.
Steve responded quickly to a legal emergency, when I needed to get our affairs in order before my husband underwent surgery. Although I'd never met him, he acted like an old friend, traveling long distances twice to make sure all our papers were ready by the surgical deadline. I appreciated his calm expertise at this stressful time, and his readiness to answer all questions in an understandable manner. Best of all, I feel that Steve will be an important resource for me in navigating the uncharted terrain of my husband's illness. I'm comfortable calling him at any time with questions or when I need a sounding board.
