About

Steven Earl’s practice focuses on Social Security Disability Law.  He has represented thousands of individuals in their claims for Social Security benefits.  This representation has required hundreds of hearings before administrative law judges as well as appeals to the Social Security Appeals Council and in the United States District Court.  He is a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimant’s Representatives, the Colorado Bar Association, and the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association. Prior to working as a disability attorney, Steven focused primarily on administrative law at the local, state, and national levels working with government agencies, non-profit organizations and private law firms.  After graduating from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, Steven clerked for the Honorable Elizabeth Weishaupl and interned at the Attorney General’s Office and the Colorado Solar Energy Industries Association.  During law school, he held leadership roles in various law student organizations, participated in several moot court competitions, and worked as an editor for the University of Denver’s Water Law Review. Prior to attending law school, Steven worked for the National Park Service as a member of the Rocky Mountain National Park Trail Crew and held various seasonal positions in several other National Parks including Yellowstone, Mt Rainier, Denali and Shenandoah. Steven enjoys spending his free-time recreating in Colorado’s mountains in such activities as hiking, snowboarding, and rock-climbing.  He developed a passion for these activities from growing up in close proximity to the Wasatch Mountains surrounding Salt Lake City where he attended the University of Utah for his undergraduate education.

My attorney Steven Earl with Apex Disability Law is amazing. My 2nd time applying for SSD I was so lost until I hired him. He was there every step, answered all questions and informed me of every step. He is so knowledgeable in court and did amazing. I won my case this 2nd time. The attorney prior to him was horrible and didn't care about my case I believe I was just another case for while Steven Earl cared, keeps up with all changes in SSD and takes pride in what he does. So blessed to have found him.

Apex took over after another attorney dropped the ball and withdrew from my case, and Apex brought my case to a successful conclusion! The staff was extremely professional and treated me like I was important for once! Their experience was evident as they walked me through every step of the process and my attorney was knowledgeable and prepared. I would strongly recommend Apex Disability Law to everybody for their case!

Steve and all the staff are very good at what they do and so kind. You absolutely need a disability lawyer to help you deal with the system and to support your case. Apex makes it so much easier, they take on some of the stress for you and a lot of the confusing logistical work. The social security administration is very slow, broken, and impersonal. Having a lawyer on your side who knows it is immensely helpful. The fees are totally reasonable and I couldn't have gotten what I need without Apex disability law. If you're thinking about or in the process of applying you should definitely hire somebody if not Steven Earl.

I found Mr. Earl after another firm dropped my case after working with them and jumping through hoops for over 2 years just prior to my hearing. After freaking out for a few days I found out about Apex Disability and Steven Earl. After explaining my situation with the receptionist I was placed on hold for a brief moment and she came back and told me that Mr. Earl would take my case. I had already been dumped by one firm and turned down by two and I was worried that maybe he just needed a client? I later learned that he has represented many TBI cases. We went to court on October 7th and I am still waiting to hear a decision but I am confident that the outcome will be a positive one. Mr. Earl is very professional and passionate and I would enthusiastically reccomend his services.

I am 95% deaf, 75% blind and both my right and left shoulders are messed up from accidents to the point that both arms are nearly useless. The Social Security system sees these as....minor issues. There's no reason, in their eyes, I cannot go back to my former profession that required me to climb around on the roofs of buildings, crawl around in crawlspaces and oh, yeah.....drive to get to the job (how would you like knowing that a guy who can't see is driving past your kids' school on the way to work?). M probalme is I don't "look" disabled when you see me standing in line at the bank. I look healhty. So, I must be, right>Wrong. In any case, Steven saw immediately that my level of disability was not only real but severe. Unlike ALL of the other disability attorneys I spoke with, his primary concern was NOT getting $500 or $1000 out of me "upfront" for "fees." He saw immediately that my case, while a bit tough because one of my disabilities ALONE might not make me totally disabled, he clearly saw my case as a challenge. One he wanted to take on and one, I am happy to report, that he easily, but expertly overcame in court. While the judge saw nothing wrong with sending a blind, deaf, crippled old guy "back to work" in a busy restaurant kitchen, warehouse or production plant, Steven saw that as just what it is: dangerous to me and to others and he argued effectively, eloquently and, ultimately, successfully that no, in fact, this guy is totally disabled. In record time, as I understand it, after Steven . . .educated the judge and the voc rehab expert, I got my settlement with Social Security. If any lawyers can walk on water, this guy, Steven Earl of Apex Disability Law, is the one who can. James
