He assists clients in evaluating potential trademarks,determining whether they are available, securing trademark rightsincluding through federal registration, and evaluating and resolvingtrademark disputes.He has extensive experience in the organization and ongoing adviceto business, nonprofit and professional corporations, cooperatives, andother business entities. Steve has handled purchases, sales and thefinancing of a variety of businesses, and has represented shareholdersand other business owners, corporate directors and officers, andemployees with regard to their business relationships. He has alsodrafted and negotiated a wide variety of contracts, includingemployment, noncompetition, nondisclosure, consulting, purchase andsale, sales representative, distribution, license and joint ventureagreements.Steve has represented participants in the health care industry,including hospitals, clinics and physicians. He has also worked in theenergy industry, including representing clients in connection withfacilities generating electricity from biogas, and power purchaseagreements.Steve also represents land trusts and landowners in conservation lawtransactions, including conservation easements and the donation, saleand bargain sale of sensitive lands for conservation purposes.
