I can't thank Mr. Brewer enough. He took control of my case and did all the work using his many years of experience, and he has a keen knowledge of the law. Mr. Brewer is the “best of the best” with a considerate staff. I would recommend him to all. An interesting fact: The Max Brewer Bridge in Titusville is named after Mr. Stephen Brewer’s father who was also an attorney. What an honor.
Mr. Brewer handled my divorce case in a very professional and efficient manner. His billing was very fair and I always felt like I was in good hands. I would highly recommend his services to anyone going through a divorce.
Mr. Brewer set the tone in my case. Without his unwavering commitment and knowledge of the law, my case would have been a lost cause. He brought the important facts to light and focused on what was important. He is calm and collective in court. Mr. Brewer is an impressive attorney and by far the best in Titusville and probably in the top 5 of Brevard County. After 10 years of dealing with family law attorneys, I can tell you without hesitation, I highly recommend Stephen M. Brewer. Family law client.
Steve took apart the wifes attorney. The end result was a divorce much more in the fathers (me) favor. Although I wanted custody at trial and didn't get it, I got it later. He kept me calm when I didn't know which way was up and I didn't understand what all was going on. He was right. Every time after trial the "dark side" came back with something or another b.s. charge after trial, he took them to town straight away and shut them down. I don't know what others charge and he's not cheap, but he's f***ing good. We did OK.
Find another divorce lawyer. Mr. Brewer came highly recommended by several co-workers. I found out (too late) that they all came to a settlement agreement with their ex-spouses. Brewer never actually went to trial with them. My ex-wife took the case all the way to trial. I actually know the guy who wrote the review before mine on this site... he didn't go to "trial", as he wrote in his review. Many people confuse a divorce "trial" with all the hearings that lead up to a trial. Everyone else that I know actually ended up making an agreement with their ex before they actually got to trial. Mr. Brewer REFUSED to bring up important facts in my case. When I insisted that he present these facts, he actually threatened to quit, leaving me at trial with no lawyer! My ex's lawyer, on the other hand, had no problem dragging me through the mud. Brewer's stance was that all this stuff has nothing to do with divorce law, and should not have any bearing on the case. But the fact of the matter is that judges are PEOPLE with FEELINGS and pre-conceived ideas. His feelings about the parties in the case have a huge bearing on the outcome of the case. In my case, my ex-wife committed felony fraud during our marriage among many other shady things... and Brewer refused to even mention that stuff. By the time I realized what a terrible job this guy was doing, I did not have money to hire another lawyer. I think I would have done a better job if I had represented myself. I would not recommend Stephen M. Brewer for divorce. Brewer is more interested in surfing than helping his clients. He spent a LOT of time out of the country surfing during my case. As a result of his not-so-excellent representation, I ended up paying alimony to my ex-wife for the rest of my life, after only a 9-year, 11-month marriage! The initial alimony order was outrageous! Brewer refused to argue with the judge. I wrote my own letter to the judge. Brewer told me that the judge probably would not even read my letter since it was not from my attorney. My letter got it reduced by 33%. No thanks to Brewer. And I paid him in excess of $30K for his terrible services.
