About
I am a third-generation trial lawyer in Gregory, South Dakota. I graduated from the University of South Dakota School of Law in 1991, and I actively practice law in all South Dakota state courts, the Rosebud Sioux tribal courts, the United States District Courts in South Dakota, and the United States Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. I am currently serving as the President of the State Bar of South Dakota and am a past president of the South Dakota Trial Lawyers Association. I am a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, an organization that recognizes my trial experience, professionalism and commitment to the justice system. I have been recognized by my peers for my leadership and commitment to promoting diversity within the legal profession and the justice system. I have been involved in hundreds of cases where I have successfully advocated for my clients and their families. My primary area of practice is in civil litigation and mediated settlements. I have a special interest in representing people who have suffered physical and emotional injuries, including adult survivors of childhood abuse and those who have been denied civil rights or who have been subjected to illegal discrimination or harrassment in housing or employment. Because of my trial experience, I am also skilled at helping clients with divorce and family law issues. My law firm works as a team for our clients, and we are proud to have been involved in some of the most important civil litigation cases in South Dakota. Every client's case is important to us because we believe in justice for all.
