I reached out to Ms. Cooper after a family member referred me to her. Through my process with dealing with child custody, she acted professional and was always attentive to any questions or needs that I had pertaining to my case. I'm not sure why the other reviews on here are so critical, I guess people look for a scapegoat when their day in court isn't favorable ... Stephanie really stepped up to plate for me, having to drive an hour and a half to my ex's town to represent me. Sitting together in the room with Ms. Cooper, arguring back and forth between my ex's lawyer, really gave me a clear understanding that she knows what she's doing and I definetly felt I got the best outcome for my situation.
I have engaged Ms. Cooper to handle multiple very delicate family law matters over the past three years. In all cases, Attorney Cooper has gained successful outcomes for me, and she has done so with absolute professionalism and alacrity.
She did a very good job for me at a very low cost .She was up front and honest .She stayed in contact always returned phone calls .
Ms Cooper represented me in a family law matter. She conducted the entire case behind closed doors. Several times she told me we were going to court, however after paying her for months to prepare, each time the lawyers and judge disappeared behind closed doors only to emerge in 20 minutes with me being t old what i was going to do in the future. each time this happened, my case got weaker. Instead of asking me for the facts, she believed what opposing counsel told her about the situation until i had to provide documentation to the contrary which was readily available. had she been honest with me about the accusations, i would have obtained and provided said documentation from the get go. Also, shouldn't she have been gathering this documentation as she was the attorney? I could not have had a worse outcome if I had gone pro se, which I eventually did.
went in blind, knowing nothing about legal matters, got hung on a first time criminal charge, could have done so much more, didn't bother.....needless to say, doing jail time, shouldn't have ever came to it, was more friendly with the DA than me as a client.....please....go elsewhere...or you will be hugely disappointed
I am very UNSATISFIED with Stephanie Cooper's performance of handling my divorce case. She repeatedly told me it would be done in 2 weeks. It ended up taking 2 weeks under 2 YEARS!! She whittled away at my deposit money until it was gone, but she did not provide ANY results. She wasted all of the deposit money and took even more afterwards. I definitely would not recommend her to anybody.
Hired her for a non violent criminal defense. The plea deal was not the same when I arrived at court and she didn't properly explain why the plea deal was changed at the last moment by the District Attorney. She told me before court that I would be in jail for 90 days and then it changed to 6 months. When I arrived at court I was put In jail for 8 months. I would not hire her again if need be nor would I recommend her.
Stephanie was nearly impossible to get in touch with. She never returned phone calls, rarely returned emails, and was never in her office. When I did manage to have an appointment with her, I had to wait an inordinately long time in the lobby. For my last appointment with her, which was her first of the morning (9 AM), she was 45 minutes late and claimed she was held up in court. After the extent of her "help" turned into emailing me unedited emails straight from my ex's attorney, I obtained a new attorney who had all of my issues wrapped up quickly and successfully.
Stephanie takes your money but never completes the job.She has nobody to answer her phone, shes never in her office she never returns calls. For the ones that she was suppose to be representing who are in jail can never get in touch with her.She never follows up with anything or anybody. How in the world can she call herself a lawyer .
