My practice specializes in the representation of Employers and Insurers in worker's compensation matters. As a result I have had many occasions to interact with and in some instances litigate with "Skip" McManes. On each occasion, he has been professional, diligent and a fierce advocate for his clients. He has the ability to disagree without being disagreeable. I have always been impressed by his knowledge and his zeal for doing the best job for his clients. I know that when I see Skip involved in a case on which I am working, that I better bring my "A" Game.
I was very pleased and satisfied with Skip's services as my Worker Comp. Attny. He and his staff kept me well informed of the procedures of my case as they developed. Through out all the process' that were necessary for me to obtain worker's compensation from a hostile, antagonistic employer, which prolonged my receiving benefits in a timely matter, he maintained focus and eventually overcame each obstacle and achieved the compenstory benefits his client (Me) was entitled to.
The team was always professional and effective. Always willing to answer questions and followed through on every request. I hope not to use their services in the future. However, I wouldn't hesitate to hire Skip if the situation arises! Thank you Skip, Sheila, & Cheryl!
Skip and his staff were helpful, kind and patient. Sheila is one of the nicest people on the planet. Cheryl was extremely helpful in walking me through the things I did not understand. Skip was knowledgeable and helped me through the most trying and emotional times that a worker's comp case can create. They all three created a comfortable environment in an uncomfortable situation. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
Skip and his staff Cheryl and Sheila are the best. I don't know what i would have done without Skip.He is exceptional he goes over and beyond what is expected he is thoughtful caring and concerned he will do what is best for you and only for you. I would highly recommend him to everyone.
Skip and his staff help me navigate through a scary process. One that I had no personal experience with. I had gotten injured at work, then sent to the worker's comp Dr. by my employer. After my examination, the Dr. recommended an MRI. He sent me home with a work restriction that prevented me from returning to work, while I waited for workers comp to approve and schedule the MRI. After a 2 week wait, (while not working), I was told by the workers comp claims representative that my claim had been denied. I was puzzled first, then angry, but attempted to return to work anyway to get some income coming in. My work would not allow me to return until was released by their Dr.! Their Dr. would of course not release me, because his recommendations were not followed. I was stuck! I couldn't return to work, and wasn't hire able anywhere else , due to my current work restrictions. My health insurance would not cover it because the form at the Dr,'s office plainly stated it was a work related injury. I was left with no alternative except to hire an attorney. After checking a few possibilities, it became clear that whom ever I chose, would hold mine and my families fate in their hands. Fortunately for me, I found Skip. Skip evaluated my case, then thoroughly explained how the process worked. He explained the potential time frame for a resolution, what I could expect from him, and what he expected from me. I assured him that I was being truthful in my description of what had happened. He told me, that only took cases that had believable clients, and that had he not had confidence in my truthfulness, that we would not be proceeding together. I respected that then, and now. He was very honest about even seemingly indisputable cases, still having an element of uncertainty due to the way hearings work, and the human factor of all the people involved. Throughout my experience with him and his staff, they were ALWAYS quick to respond to emails, and to keep me up to date with ALL that was happening with my case. Skip was also available to answer questions, either by phone or email, (I live about 35 miles away in a neighboring town). They allowed me to feel as if I was a part of the team in our gathering and compiling of information related to the case. His staff and I emailed back and forth many times as we worked to accumulate all the related facts. Prior to our hearing, I was at peace with the knowledge that we had all done all that was possible to prepare. That joint preparation strengthened my case enough that the opposition requested mediation. One of the most significant areas of Skip's expertise in my case was when the opposition offered to settle. Skip's experience in that area helped place a value on my claim, and a limit on a least amount we should settle for before walking away, and proceeding with the hearing. I have no doubt that because of his involvement, my case had a happier ending that it may have. Once it was over, the opposing attorney even shook our hands as if to say he believed it was the correct outcome as well. I am very satisfied with Skip and his staff. I feel fortunate to have had them representing me. I also have left the experience with friends I didn't have before. I highly recommend his services!
You are the best ever. You made a huge difference and I want to thank you so very much. You made everything possible for me to be able to walk again after about 9 or 10 months. I can not thank you enough for that wonderful gift you gave back to me. I will highly recommend you to anyone and everyone that needs an excellent Worker's Com lawyer. I can not thank you enough.
Skip and his staff were great, he took my case and managed it through surgery, rehab and on to a settlement it was nice to have a lawyer I could talk to and I was very pleased with his services and I would highly recommend him.
Mr McManes came to my rescue at a time that I did not know what, where and how. He took my case after I was told by an orthopaedic specialist that there is nothing he can do for me after six weeks of physical therapy during which I complained that my lower back pain became gradually worse. Mr McManes managed to get me a second opinion and I got a second MRI which revealed that my injury was still the same. I entered further treatment and because of Mr McManes' diligence, my ex-employer's insurance agreed to a settlement. I am now in treatment guided by my personal physician and doing much better. I will forever be thankful to Mr McManes because a lower back injury can be disastrous if you do not get the proper treatment in time.
